    Who's got the hornies

I DO. OK Minds out of the gutter (it's not an Uncle Bob post).

I’m getting some stuff ready to take to the swap meet in Tucson next month and decided to refurbish these and see if I can find them a new home.

Of course then again if they don’t sell

NAW, but running them at the back of the truck out under the bumper is not out of the question LOL.

I can honestly say when I read the title the 1st thing that came to my mind was "Purple Hornies" mufflers.
Haven't seen a pair of those since High School(mid 70's).
In my own opinion they are the definition of "LOUD"....joe

Back in the mid 70's we took 4 of em and cut & welded 2 of em together, painted em flat black and used em as sidepipes. Seem to remember they where less than $20 bucks a piece back then.

Flowtech 50231FLT Purple Hornies 3-Hole Turnout Header Muffler - $48.43 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping. On e-Bay.

First thing I thought was mufflers as well. Goes along with Cherry Bombs and Smithy's old school type mufflers

"....Well heck, what would it be referring to other then mufflers??? ...."

That'd what I get for posting on a site with guys as old as me.

".....Purple hornies seem to go with cherry bombs........are they still around ....? ..."

Yes and no. Flowtech has the name now but they were originally made by Cyclone. Flowtechs are necked down 3 1/2" (?) cases where the Cyclones are a full 4" case. With the 4" case there were a lot of cars they just didn't fit under very well. The Cyclones haven't been made in probably 35 years.

Over the last year I've seen a couple of places where guys are hunting for the original Cyclones so I figured I clean thes up and see how they do If nothing else they are garage wall art.
