Starting class next week
I finally have the opportunity to go back to school, registered today and will start class next Tuesday. I’ve enrolled in a welding class at one of our local community colleges. I learned to stick weld on a Lincoln 225 in the early ‘70s, even worked briefly as a 2nd shift Mig welder while going to school as a young man. That was a long, long time ago, now I need a good refresher course and want to become more proficient at Tig welding on a Miller set-up I got from my son. This should be fun, I’m excited. :D

That's super cool, Mike! I'd like to get proficient at TIG, too.

Great Mike. I took a MIG class when I bought my little Lincoln - and after I found that my welds looked like pigeon poop and had the same strength{or less}

Sounds like a good plan Mike. Hope you've seen the recent comments on the "Everybody....." thread that Jerry made. I've been working on that eye/hand/pedal coordination thing. TIG is similar to gas welding only more control if you can get the "rhythm".

Hey, everybody----(maybe I should write a song)(as welding is about ryhman? )
Last night (late) I was reading the monthly news letter from Lincoln welding and after watching a video they had on the screen went to a screen of several other vides(don't know how) but they were from a group called
weldingtipsandtricks
of course put in the .com and the www

Reading tech tips in Street Rodder I found the same explanation on setting max apps to give more sensitive pedal controlfooty TIG'ing.
Jerry, your link got wrapped into your "---take a look", but still did not work for me when I clipped it after the .com. Maybe you can edit that post?

Jerry, I've enjoyed Jody's Weldings Tips and Tricks.com for several years, that's where I read about his endorsement of the Northern Tools auto-darkening helmet for the welding hobbyist and picked up one. I also get a weekly video from his You Tube collection. His site has a wealth of welding information.
