Very cool!! That little lady handled the truck just fine, too.
Yep, Pretty lady in a Kewl Truck! But they must've put the film in the camera backwards as she and the steering wheel are on the wrong side!
She missed the opertunity for a chicken diner
Yeah,Charlie..She probably wants eggs for breakfast,instead..:D
34-40,,its getting harder to find an old truck in this part of the world that is right hand drive,,as the Defense Forces took just about anything they could lay their hands on,for the war effort during the 40's,and not a lot was returned..Most of our small trucks were whipped within an inch of their lives,or succumbed to rust,or both..along with the bigger trucks..Anything half decent is now in private collections,or museums..
Very nice truck and some really nice country to cruise in!!!! Now if you could get that crazy dude in the Escort (from the other video) to shoot a video of him and his car on that same road!!!!! Heck, there'd even be a Ford truck with a wrecker on the back in case things went bad in the Escort!!!!!
I know a bit about that situation as we have a lot of old timers who tell me what they tossed into the piles for scrap drives! Or worse, I live along the coast and to build the docks old autos /trucks were a favorite to set into place as fill! 2 of my uncles can show you the filled in landfills (former quarrys) and they can't name all the brands they pushed into the hole to act as fill!
I also play with old make/ break (hit & miss) engines and we always hear the same stories of the engines scrapped for the war... sigh...
I prefer this version (& video) of that same song!
"Going up the Country" - Canned Heat / WOODSTOCK '69 - YouTube
Even worse...When Ford Motor Company built their new car assembly plant in Wellington,,(early 60's) a whole lot of NOS parts/panels,etc,were bulldozed into the ground, which ended up under the plant,obviously..An older friend, whose late father had a Ford dealership,,was in the FOMOCO premises, checking out the cars, and the plans for the new plant, and they were horrified to see it happening,,but couldnt retrieve anything..Maybe thats why Warren became a hoarder..:D He still talks about it,,still disturbed by it..:D
