Ford's new Mustang Shelby GT is first 200-mph muscle car

"The new Shelby was created in Ford's own special vehicles team and not to be confused with the aftermarket performance versions modified by Shelby American, the specialty company of automotive racing icon Carroll Shelby.
Ford is not saying what it expects the gas mileage rating to be, but says it will be good enough to avoid a government "gas guzzler tax.""
I wonder if that'll be a EPA rating? Or an "average" industry rating? LOL..
The EPA ratings are being completely changed by O'Bs new czar for consumer protection---It is going to be based on TAX per Mile--the more fuel you use the more tax you pay which can be offset by a grant issued for basic auto classes at your local high school/jumior college----of course priority goes to contributors to the pac super funds----
 OH BOY! So where can I contribute?
maybe my logic is scewed .. lets say a gun salesman trying to make a sale tells me this AK47 assult rifle is capable of killing 25 people in 25 seconds .. and i go and do just that .. would`nt you think the gun salesman would sorta be held liable ... same as my car salesman tells me this shelby is capable of going 200 mph .. leaving the sales lot in a effort to reach that 200 mph i wreck and kill myself and dozens of others would it not be of the same logic that the salesman be held liable ..you would`nt want me on the jury if you were charged in either case ,,
Hoss,I'm sure you have hear it said before that people kill people, guns don't.Same thing with the car.
I would think the Plymouth Superbird hemi of the late 60's was quite capable of 200 mph speeds.

What about the Corvette ZR1? It was released a couple years ago.
Charlie it's sounds like one @%#^ of a fast new car! I can't believe we'd be so lucky to pick one up for the current list price of 49K, but that's some very impressive stuff they are talking about! I hope the 50th anniversary of the Mustang doesn't ace me out on getting an old classic! My first car was a 68 Mustang coupe, and I've always wanted to add a 65/66 fastback to the garage!
Has any one heard about chevy building a "special edition" camaro to compete with the new shelby? Ive had several people tell me they were but cant find an actual report or atricle about them attempting to do that
*edit*
Soon as i posted this I found an atricle about a new Zl1.

Any thought on if this could hang with the new shelby
Can't get link to open???

Try this one, Charlie - one of the "http's" removed....
Had a short discussion with the Nickey people yesterday about a stop over at Bonneville on the way back from Pebble Beach in August----also did some discussions with the people doing the carbon fiber Camaro bodies for NHRA Pro Stock--could pretty easily change from the firebird body on my chassis to the new Camaro--they say its 2 points better than the pontiac GXP which is the best out there right now---we can probably expect Line or Anderson to run 215 at Gainesville if its necessary to run somebody down.
Sorry for the link i posted wrong but I really hope these shelbys live up to all their hype because its all ive been hereing about lately
