Post Your Christmas Loot
Quiet year here, what with work cutbacks, and such, but I still got a nice Dewalt cordless drill, and a set of standard old style screw drivers from Garrett Wade. I also bought myself a set of rear leaf springs for the old truck, with a little help from Mike52!
Post up some chrtistmas cheer, and share if you would like!

I got this ring from my wife. I thought it was pretty cool, it even has my logo on it!

Nice gift! Must be a good story behind the name and logo!

Cool ring, Hawk! Looks like Titanium.
We decided to focus on the little kids in our family gathering, so the adults drew names with a $25 limit. My haul was a pair of DVD movies, Bullitt and American Graffiti - we watched Graffiti last night after the kids were gone, and it was great!! The production notes after the show (collector's edition) were really interesting, giving lots of insight into the struggles they went through to get Graffiti to the screen.

Yep family is the best! My wife unfortunately was away with her family in southern california, as I had to work Christmas eve and day, only to be called off due to no patients in our department! Sucks to not be able to gather with family this time of year! I did get to do a day trip to Mendocino Nt. Forest for some quail hunting with a few friends, but would of loved a big Christmas feast dinner with Prime Rib, and yorkshire pudding, at the inlaws! If they lived a little closer say 500 miles closer, I would of driven down once I was called off yesterday afternoon, but it's an 8-9 hour drive from here, so the doggies and I had our own quiet celebration, watching a few movies including part of the John Wayne marathon on tv, and parts of the raiders of the lost arc series! Not too bad!

Hope you can work out a Big Family Gathering next year Stovens - - - - - my Mom died in January, leaving me as the eldest, so getting together with my family was especially important and "comforting" to me this year.

Christmas Eve we skyped with one boy and his family as he is stationed in Virgina Beach It was fun and the wife hasn't seen those two grand daughters in awhile. The rest of the kids called and we talked. With every one grown up and gone its realy hard to get every one to gether at one time. The wife and I went to church Christmas morning, came home and started fixing diner.. Not hard just the two of us. Ham, corn, potatos, brusel sprouts, and a bunch of other veges. Then we watched her favorite movie "White Christmas" I got her the dvd for Christmas. Then watched the Bears loose. Wasn't long after that we got another phone call fron one of the kids in Iowa. We will be having the fourteenth grand kid in May. Now what more could you want. OH yes the wife bought me a 1/2" drive metric impact socket set and a spool of .035 wire for the welder "She Loves ME". Hope every one else had a great day
-
"White Christmas" is one of my favorites also and I managed to watch the reruns 3 1/2 times this year.
The Wiffy is good for one rerun but she makes me go in the other room on the 2nd, 3rds and ETC.

Got to spend the entire two days with my kids and their spouse`s, something we don`t get to do much anymore, they work a lot of hours trying to get ahead.

So Steve, as a Petaluma resident did you know that the first "day" of filming of American Grafitti was in San Jose, essentially from 9pm to 6am? They ran into camera mount difficulties, lost at least 1/2 day and then the next morning the city fathers told them that they were rejecting the contract and they were no longer welcome in San Jose. George Lucas went to Petaluma who opened their arms to the film crew, and the rest is history. They did use some cruise scenes from San Jose to broaden the cars seen, but not being familiar with the cities I have no idea which scenes might be San Jose vs Petaluma.

I got a Milwaukee Hackzall; the coolest new tool on the market!
-
Not sure Roger. I haven't watched the movie recently, but most of it looked to be filmed downtown here. Of course Mel's Dinner was a different location, and that one doesn't exist anymore! You should come to the annual salute to american graffeti show .it is a car show here every May

I got a new pair of steel toe shoes & a 32gb chip for my new SLR.
Just got back from a late Monday night Christmas with the kids.
Grandson Ethan has bunch of Lego train parts since that's what everybody got him. Boxes & boxes of interchangeable Legos. He was happy & we all had fun watching him be happy.
-
Man Lego is the best. About 15 years ago I taught at a school with a 40K dollar lego lab. It had enough blocks to build a bridge across the room you could walk on, and motorized stuff with gears that you could teach engineering concepts like torque and gear ratio's, and a computer interface that let you make stuff that was motorized and worked with counters, light sensors, start stop remotes, etc... What a blast that was!

Scored a THX-138 license plate,a sweatshirt with 32 coupe on it and a bunch of Whitmans sugar free candy. Best thing I got was all 6 kids and the 9 grandkids @ the house. Ohhhhh forgot about the $50 Harbor freight gift card.

Our son's tour in Afghanistan is over & he's back home in Japan.
It would have been nice to have him home, but it sure did make his wife happy when he landed back in Japan just before Christmas....joe

Hi all, I made out pretty good this year, a metal cutting chop saw, a K&N air cleaner top for the Camaro, and a 100th anniversary Boy Scout edition Henry Golden Boy 22 rifle! She spent way to much, but that's one reason I love her so much.
Happy New Year to everyone.
Ken

Sweet rifle! Henry makes some real nice stuff, so nice most of us wouldn't want to use it so it wouldn't get scratched! Good score!
Toomanytocount - great news! My brother got back in August, but I think tour really took it's toll on him, he's had a hard time adjusting to life back stateside, course his ex has a lot to do with it. I'm happy your son is back home safe and sound hope you guys can hook up soon!
