LOL-hell no. Not me as a roadie.I traveled with the band.Never touched much in road cases.Clair was a national pro sound company doing tours all over the country.Tractor trailers of sound and lighting equipment.There was two huge companies,one was Clair and the other who's name I can't remember was out of Texas and was owned by CBS.The one out of Texas did all the Stones tours at the time.A promoter at the time out of Buffalo has a pc of a Stones show at Rich Stadium which is where the Bills play.The promoter name was Harvey & Corkey and I was friends with their stage manager John Wolf.Back stage at that show was 8 tractor trailers of amps all lined with row after row of Crown amps.Then another 4 tractor trailers of lighting.Just a kick a$$ system.I think it was 30k per side if memory serves me correctly.

Didn't the Wilson's use Sunhuirsers(SP) 441's for vocals??.

I was on the consuner end, Mike Thompson was the EE and my boss. Tim Johnson headed up the pro side, and he dealt with the artists. I was certain he put together a system for the Wilsons, but you working in field would know what was set up. I never even made any of the concerts, only met them when they were at our facility.

Did you ever see or have experiance with the "Blue Ox" Heil Pro ? Large blue horn and pricey alnico magnets. Would have been used 5kHz~20kHz.

As I remember it,the style of driver your talking about was cut short by JBL ceramic drivers.Minimum distortion from 7k all the way up to 20k.The crossovers from those systems had adjustable over lapping slopes and where built not for sale by either of those two companies.Same for the mixing boards,built not bought.The competition for bid contacts of the tours was based on their development of the electronics,some far before their time.

I worked to a tour company for hire to solely mix the music.LOL-yeah it was a outstanding pay,but we all know how expensive it is to be on the road.:whacked:;):LOL::LOL:

I think I listened to a system like that in a recording studio.

Well one day I woke up and couldn't remember what city I was in.Those tours are 16 hr days leading up to 70 mins of a show.That was enough of that and settled back in Buffalo,NY working for a local sound company that had a system in a Club called the Salty Dog.We did shows with Kim Michale,Blood,Sweat and Tears,Striper,The Romones,The Good rats,Greg Almond,etc.

Well bottom line is I guess I have live a fast pace charmed life.The drag racing side of it I admit I have been more than just lucky.
