I sure am glad that I taped this race so I could fast forward thru the numerous commercials and tedious 'racin' the track' runs - as it has become a ho-hum fest like many of the 1.5 mile and longer tracks. There were not only many empty seats but entire sections that were closed off - guess it has either become too boring or too much money to be able to see only a small part of the action from your seat. It's still a 'happening', just not as much of one as it was.

Regardless, there was another first time winner with Paul Menard who has been soldiering on for many years looking for his first. Congratulations, you ran a good race !!

Didn't watch it either but there are NO good seats at indy none that I'm aware of why spend all that money to watch a monitor stay home in the A/C and watch it. They should open up a 2 mile dirt track THEN you'd see a raceCharlie
Lovin' what I do and doing what I love

Sure was good to see Paul Menard pick up the win!!! Now that he's with RCR I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see a whole lot more of him runnin' up front! I sure don't like the fuel mileage events, but can't say how the heck they can prevent the race from becoming one!!! I guess to be a spectator today you have to really be into the strategy part of the race, and appreciate all the little nuances it takes for a team to get a win!!!! Almost every car that makes the show is capable of winning the event these days and when a team does put together a long string of good finishes it's just a matter of time til the rest of the field gets things figured out and the cars are all back even again.

With all the money involved, sponsor considerations, and everything else the days of NASCAR "checkers or wreckers" racing is for the most part gone. As with all forms of Motorsports, technology is what it takes to win and technology costs a ton of money....I'd say racing is becoming a victim of it's own success???????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
