Lexi is continuing to improve! She's out of ICU and into Pediatrics, more excellent Doctors and Nurses taking care of her,,,and the rest of us, too.!!!!
DSS brought her sister up for awhile this afternoon, the two of them were very happy to see each other. Alisha is about a year older, and very concerned about her baby sister!!!! Already easy to tell that along with the physical issues, both girls are going to require a lot of help dealing with the mental and emotional issues!!!!!
We have a meeting tomorrow afternoon with DSS to talk over things about the girls and the status of their case....Hopefully we can get more answers then.
The one thing I have been thinking about over and over again is why these people who abuse and neglect children are even allowed to exist on the planet and breathe our air???? People keep assuring me that they'll get their just rewards......
Keep the prayers coming, I can see them working everyday!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Fantastic news on Lexi's progress, Dave! Brought tears to my eyes reading your post, and I'm not in the least ashamed to say that! You are in our thoughts and prayers daily, and our hope is that both girls are able to have a safe, loving atmosphere for their continued growth, whoever is their primary caregiver. As you've said, one person may have abused, but the other may have allowed that abuse and both are then unworthy of being in a parental position. Godspeed as you work the system.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Fantastic, Dave !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was hoping we would get more good news from you today. I sure hope the agencies that govern this stuff make the right decisions for you and those two beautiful little girls.
Thanks for keeping us updated, and please do so again tomorrow...........we care.

Great to hear things are going in the right direction now. Knowing Grandpa is in the mix, I'm sure the situation will continue on the right path. We'll continue the prayers Dave."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

Great News Dave - Like others, I sit here with a lump in my throat and wish I could be close enough to buy you lunch, sip a coffee or just sit with you as a friend. Ya gotta know that the members here are praying for you and your precious family. I shared this thread with my wife last evening as we were unwinding a bit watching TV and her response was like all here, "Why do people hurt these little ones?" and "I sure hope the responsible parties are held very, very accountable for a very, very long time."
We'll keep praying - for Lexi - that the recovery is complete in body and mind. And for you Dave - remember Winston Churchill's words, "If you're going through hell, keep going!"
Hang in there Dave!

Just keep a cool head. If you were to end up in jail, it would just increase your family's pain even more.
My mom used to tell me... "You don't have to be the one to 'get somebody'... because they will eventually get themselves". }:-) I have found that to be oh so true!

I will continue to support her and her sisters recovery. That is great news.
I am just another member here.No one special for sure and not on staff here.I feel the need to post this anyways and surely not to step on this very important thread in anyway.
All of you guys are special to care this much about one of this forum's members. For the lack of word to express myself, you all should take a bow and be very proud of yourself's for the very apparent huge hearts you all have.Good Bye

Twistin' and bangin' on stuff for about sixty or so years; beat up and busted, but not entirely dead - yet.

Good morning Dave. I've tried looking Alexus up through the Iowa hospital and could not find anything there. I hope that everything is improving. It's very sad when things get like this. Our prayers are still being sent up. I only live 50 miles from you and do hope that we meet some day. Terry from Brandon.

Dave it's great news about your grand daughter. Kids are so resilient and bounce back from bad things so quickly. I'm sure they will need emotional help in the future to deal with what has happened to them. My hope is they are able to work through it together, and be stronger because of it.

Dave
sorry to hear this but also glad to hear that you are taking charge--
just a hint to get the dark thoughts about the parents outta your mind until after the meetings with the athorities--remember they want to mend parent/child relations
afterwards---well you might take the asshole on a hunting trip with you and the former vice president!!!!!!!

Dave, Glad to hear the good news. Young kids usually come around faster than the older children. I had someone real close to me abused from the age of 3 thru 12 and you would never know it talking to her at the age of 58. Prayers are with you. BartKeep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
