Just quessing the dad is no longer with us and the daughter has no love for cars. If it were mine or my relitives I'd have my air tickets waiting at the airport.
I hope the old owner, who apparently doesn't want the car, gives the man who recently bought it on Ebay the first choice of purchase, he has been done too over the same car, only for his honesty she wouldn't have got the car back again.
Yes I agree that the man that has first purchased it via Ebay, should be given first refusal on purchasing the car due to his honesty. Would he have any come back on the seller of the car on Ebay???
If the orignal owner recieved payment from an insurance co. it would go back to them

Seems that at least a couple of times a year we are hearing stories like this. I wonder whether it’s just makes the stories more available to everyone or the national stolen car data base is really having an impact on recovering some of these cars.

It's hard to tell without all the facts, but chances are the E Bay seller also bought the car in good faith
On the one hand it makes you glad the original owner is reunited with his old ride, but somewhere along the line someone is usually out a bunch of money and chances are it is NOT the guy who stole the car in the first place but rather someone who bought and got what appeared to be clean paperwork on it. .
I always make it a point to get a clear buildable title on my projects prior to starting the build but if it already comes with paper all I normally have to do is title transfer and usually doesn’t require a DMV inspection of the vehicle. In my case the “cheap” part of the build is normally the purchase of the car or truck itself. I know I’d be really POed is I ended up building a car for someone else for free.
I NEVER start a project till I have the title in my hands and all numbers match. This guy must have had a title too just not the right one.
Heard she bought the car new., Yellow and black then. Buyer had the car insured with ebays buyer insurance and is covered.
I wonder how much the original owner got for the the theft insurance payoff, probably about $4,500? It has to be worth several times that now.
