I clay barred my 08 Mustang and decided to try Meguire's #6 cleaner and wax. It went on easy and came off better than anything I've ever used before. Seems like a great product but where do I go from here? It seems to an old guy like me that the ease of application has to come with a caveat. Does this product last very long? Should I apply something over it?
I think that would probably depend on whether is gets lots of sun and weather - - - I always used Meguires on my '55 and I got good results but it was kept inside under a car cover unless I was driving it.
I would probably, after using the #6, put on a coat of their NXT. I do my black truck really well once a year - and water will still bead up months later (tho I do use some of their spray and wipe stuff a couple times after a wash). I also use their #26 or Gold class carnuba wax tho it doesn't last quite as long.Quote:

If it goes on and wipes off easy, it doesn't last near as long as the old days when it went on hard and came off hard. Less rubbing just doesn't do the job like it use to. The good thing for us old guys is that it's less work. :)

On mine, I start with carnuba first... Doesn't go on easy, doesn't come off easy, but it sure does protect the paint!!!
