My aircraft commander on those camo Connies had been a fighter jock in Korea. He had a patch on his flight suit that read: "F-86, last of the sport models". Always put a smile on my face.

I heard Bob Hoover interviewed once. Somebody asked him what, in his opinion, was the best aircraft he ever flew.
He answered immediately:"F86. It would do anything you wanted it to do."
