2000 GMC / Chevy ,Junky Frames

Is this an east coast problem only? I get several of these GMC and Chevy 1/2 tons a year in my shop, the same problem, rusted and broken frames. this one arrived today, the guy drove it here, although I don't know how! All that was holding it together was the driveshaft ,exhaust and rear wiring. He had a new rear window installed yesterday, because the cap/topper had shattered it. Is it any wonder GM is in trouble? These are the 99-04 models, most have undercoated yearly. At least Toyota recalled their rusty Tacoma's and Tundra's,but it does keep me in business, so I guess I should say"Thanks GM"
