Because I sold my 23 recently, I understand how you feel. I NEVER part with my stuff, even my daily drivers tend to stay around for years and years, but it was time for it to go. Very strange seeing someone else drive away in something that was part of you...........like seeing your GF out on a date with another guy.:(
Some people don't see it that way, and turn over their cars every year or so. Good for them, after all, it is just steel and rubber. I can tell you that having a new project or car helps take some of that sting away.......I rarely think of the 23 any more. Use that motor to build something else. :)

That is a beautiful car and I know exactly how you feel. I had to sell my Cobra that I built and raced a few years ago because of health problems and I almost cried as I saw it loaded into my cousin's trailer. That was the only car I have ever felt bad about getting rid of.

Hard to let them go, especially when it's you need cash and have no choice option! I still miss my Stang! 36 years now!

Not a hot rod but when I traded my truck in back in late Dec. that seemed a little odd for awhile too. (having the new truck took the edge off though :D ) My daughter took it harder than I did.
A few days later I stopped by the dealership & the old truck was in a snowbank with all the graphics stripped off. Looked like an orphan. For 18 years I'd not seen it without the lettering. I took a couple pix.

oh i indeed cried. i came home from the hospital in that car. it feels like a brother died/left.

Well gasser, maybe it is just time to find another body and do that "heart transplant"!!!
Glad to hear you had a plan B for turning lemons into lemonade!!
Good luck!
