I can feel your excitement, Charlie, that one should be a "head snapper"- - - keep us updated when you can, ok?
sweet looking nova. that should be a great build
Kewl Charlie, a 9" floater on the street!!!
NO NO thats my jig you see there that all comes off when I finish welding on the perches. That would be cool though**)
Good start Charlie, what year big block..? and where did you get the linement collars for the `9 inch...?
bbc is a Mark 4 2 pc rear main seal. I made the collars for the bearings, and the sleves in the carrier bearings inside. I wouldn't even think about welding one with out the collars and bushings inside.
I have a 9 inch swedged housing like yours, and a standard 9 inch early housing from a early bronco, bronco width is 58, no work involved and I`m not racing, think I`ll use it...
Every car / truck I've built( lots ) I put in a 9" I've narrowed all of them and had Mosser cut and respline the axles. I haven't had any problems yet with mine I bought one once and didn't check it wound up taking it apart and doing it over. real strong rears.
I will take the bronco housing in to pirate 4x4, they do straigthen housings, then a clean up and weld new spring perches on, I`ve got axles for it, yukons, just need to find the just right center section, for it, got my eye on one now. I can here my eight inch just groaning from the strain, it won`t last much longer.
My last eight inch posi with cracked pinion support.
Finding it now is better than sending gears down the road..
Nice, Charlie! Nova engine bays look awesome with a big block stuffed in them.
Nice Charlie. When in doubt, go big. Just ask Barb....:3dSMILE:
Moving along the spring mounts are moved inboard new springs in place, need perches to go anymore. Hopefuly this week.
