thanks mike and vara
Vara mine has been up and running sinse `03, I just trying to ease the anticipation she has, actually it was worse for the wife than me, then after it was running only about 5 miles on it we made a 120 mile run to a show in the mountains, she was really on pins and needles then, all the way there and back no issues, even to this day..
Well When you guys make some video's Don't put a chicken in charge of the camera Like another club hot rod member did! He said he had a short video for us to watch. HE! HE! HE! He didn't make it to second gear and you see the camera change angels and shut off. HE! HE! HE! It was more like a flash or a glimps of a video HA! HA! HA! Very Funny!!!

Did you get anything else done Barb????
Kurt
got all the wiring done and got it turning over. just need to get the old fuel out of my tank now and finish running the fuel line. then should be good for a start up.
good going Barb one more step done. almost ready for the drum roll lol
thanks chopped
quick update: got my engine turning over. just had to stop and recharge the battery cause i am using the manual fuel pump to drain the old gas out of the tank. fuel pump is working well but i have a 1/4 tank to drain. i am very happy as i was concerned that the engine would not turn over or the fuel pump would not pump. i am getting there. :D
If I am understanding you correctly, you are grinding on the starter motor to operate the fuel pump to drain the fuel tank. This is not a good way to proceed. It's not only tough on the starter, but the cam rotating in there with no splash lube on it ain't gonna like it for very long. Take a line loose and let the fuel drain out.
What are you doing Barb, cranking the engine and pumping fuel out that way? Might want to be careful as that will be hard on the starter and also I'd worry a little about lubrication with the engine not starting up and all. You might be better off to pickup a cheap hand pump at the auto parts store and drain the tank that way.
Just thought I should mention that.
Don
thanks don and tech. did not think about that. wow you guys just saved me ALOT of trouble. how could i have been so stupid. so i can just remove the hose coming out of the tank to drain the gas? I do not have any money for a pump and hubby is working out of town for the week so i can not raid his pockets. lol
you can buy a cheap in line fuel pump and wire that up to pump the fuel out of the tank .cranking a engine for a long time is not to good :( you may get oil psi you do not get much oil splash on some parts of the engine that need that to keep them happy the hardest part of a engines life is cranking them ......slow fingers OH well
thanks pat. my first engine swap. thank goodness you guys stopped me before i destroyed it.
Hehe, there were a whole bunch of us typing our little fingers off at the same time! Great minds and all that stuff. :)
Don
if i still have and can find it i will send you an electric pump that will suck that gas out in about 2 minutes .. 100 GPM holley pump i have no use for ..i will know tonite if i have it still
