Barb, one of the things that I have found most helpful in doing engine swaps is to secure the factory service manuals for both cars. They can be worth their weight in gold sometimes. I have always used Faxon Auto Literature and so I looked up the manual for your Cadillac. I used '72 because I know the 472 was produced in '72, although your motor may be a different year. The cheapest you could come out on it would be the CD for 30 bucks, instead of the hard paper copy, which costs more. At least you could make copies of the CD to use outside and not ruin a good paper manual. This CD has the electrical system in it, so it should lead you in the right direction as to what the 4 wires are and where they go.
