That was just plain stupid not to mention long and painful to listen to. Who's the target market here? Well it sure isn't me and this is certainly not "your fathers Chevrolet..."

What happened to the beautiful models that would stand by the car with their sexy hand and arm motions with the big smiles (I mean well you know) anyway this was a real head spinner. What did they say?

I think I like the hamsters better.

Now, our "wonderful" prez said that it was going to cost $41,000 base price with our broke Uncle Sammy giving us back $7,500. This is still costing us $33,500 for that car. Now, I can buy that hamster's Kia locally for about $19 - 22,000 and get up to 36 mpg depending on which engine I choose. I can drive a heluva long way for $14,500 worth of gas even in my F350 - to be green. Nah - all an electric car is is a transference from one energy source to another - and, interestingly, often 'generated' from the same base product, oil. Plug it into an outlet - electricity is usually made from a carbon compound with only a very small amount from renewable sources - but then those generating.....aw heck, you know what I mean. Now, where is that savings??

Uncle Bob - why are you doing this to me!!!!

$41k for a POS Chevy Volt is not much of a comeback. Geez, even that name is cheesy to me

if you check it out all of there profit came from overseas sale not dom.sales.plus 40 mile and it needs a recharge(the volt).studebaker made elecitic cars from 1902-1912 and thats about what they got,we have made no progress in a 100 years, they don't work and never will.i'm not new to all of this solar and ev.friendly stuff.built a hot water system for my son in fla.stillworking, built in 1984,and dose not use solar panels.converted my 76 t/a to alohal in 1982,brewed my own fuel(still).had permit and everything.car would not pass safety inspection(no cats)so i went to the junk yard bought 2 ford cats and knocked the guts out of them then filled cats with quick dry cement and inserted a piece of straight pipe and welded them on the exhaust system.got my insopection and life was good until 1986 when me and the oldlady spilt up.she got the t/a.

just watched the video, you could not fit the 3 young ladies in the volt it is a very small car with a big battery pac runninmg down the middle of the passenger compartment.this one will go the way of the vega you wait and see.

Gov't Motors are doing so well that they can even donate to politicos (uhhhh isn't that an oxymoron):

"GM donates $41,000 to lawmakers' pet projects

    By T.W. Farnam
    Thursday, August 5, 2010; A15

When General Motors went through bankruptcy last year, it suspended its political donations. Now that it's owned by the U.S. government, it's donating to lawmakers' pet projects again.

The carmaker gave $41,000 to groups associated with lawmakers, the vast majority of it -- $36,000 -- to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the company reported on a disclosure form last week. The CBC Foundation is a charity with 11 members of the Congressional Black Caucus on its board. "

I would rather drive a large nail through my manhood that have to watch that commercial again. I think I'll pass on ordering a Volt.

Let's see if I understand this. If a coupla local wise guys comes into Tony's corner deli and "encourage" him to make a payment to them to protect his business from, oh say, having his window broken out, or something else violent happening, it's called extortion in the law (or "protection" from the wise guys point of view). But if a politician does essentially the same thing it's called a political contribution................okay, I got it now.

What would it then be, oh just hypothetically, if a politician were to then void the legal financial standing of, oh let's say bond holders in a corporation, and gift that financial value to some cronies, let's say maybe a trade union, who (the union) in turn gives some of that money back to the politician in the form of a "political contribution"? Wonder what that is? Before you start thinking of ridiculous terms like theft, money laundering, or some such, don't forget about the expression, "business as usual"..................well, for some anyway. Move along, nothing to see here....
