Another nice thing would be if we could see some of the projects members are working on..........ones that we haven't seen before or not often. Some of you might feel your stuff isn't worthy, but nothing could be further from the truth. Sure, we have some very heavy hitters on here skill wise, but they enjoy seeing our work as much as we enjoy seeing theirs. This forum isn't a competition to see who spends the most money or does the nicest work, it is about all of our cars and interests. I know personally it always makes me feel good when one of the really talented folks on here posts something complimentary about my humble efforts. Kinda like my 15 minutes of fame, or something.

So post em up............and we LOVE pictures, lots and lots of pictures.

its funny but i think the reason for me is simple most of the people on these threads are chevy lovers and they seem to thank everything should have a chevy in it. i like older engines and love to beat chevys when ever i can.i do not have a hot car yet but have owned a lot in my past.when i retired i sold every thing i had car wiseBIG MISTAKE.my racing record is pretty good,ive won more than i have lost.running all types of cars.i've have one very fast chevy a 56 210 2-door,but true to my cread it had a 425 super wildcat engine w/2x4s and a t-10 4-speed.had the fastest car in town for a long time,but went into the army and sold it.so when people talk of loder engines i perk up.i'm in the process of building a studebaker r-4 clone(304.5 cid,2x4,isky cam etc....and of course its going into a chevy.crate engines are another subject wich i hate but for another time.

Very true. The old addage "A picture is worth a thousand words" holds true here. Also, some of us who have done a lot of this type work become set in our ways about how to do things. Sometimes, someone less experienced or just getting into the hobby has a fresh idea that we old farts can learn from. Give us pictures and stories, folks, and we can all give each other encouragement, ideas and help.

James,James sorry maybe only your mum called you that when you were in deep trouble. Well Mr Jim Robinson,at 62 you are still light years away from been an "Old Fart". I always believed Old Farts age started when one reached 100 but I suppose there are unusual cases, just look at Uncle Bob.

Hotrodstude. No, there are lots of us on here who like more than just sbc engines. Personally, I do have one in my 23, but I also have a sbf in my 27, a 394 Olds in my someday 29 rpu, my Son Dan has a 468 Olds in his rpu, his Brother Don has a 306 Ford in his 23, Gastrick on here has a Hemi in his 32, his Dad has a Hemi in his Willys, JRobinson has a Ford in his track car, Barb has a Caddy in her Chevy, Bob P has a flathead in his 29, etc. etc.

We love all kinds of engines on here and would love to see the ones you are putting together. I love nothing more than seeing a nailhead, hemi, Olds, Stude, straight 6 anything, or any other different engine sitting down in a car. Post em up and I bet you get lots of others who like what you love too.

My ratrod will have a Chevy, but when the engine is pretty much free. I can't complain... I briefly thought about rear engine Vw power but decided against it, as the frame would need rebuilt to fit the engine/ transaxle

Well I do a lot of engines and have raced a variety---I'm in early process of building a 392 Hemi and Ford flathead to swap back and forth in 33 roadster(Downs glass)

After all my years of racing many things---I have developed a saying""""The crankshaft doesn't know what it says on the valve cover""""

so many engines we build for customers these days don't have any oem parts in them--most common oem parts used these days might just be an camshaft retainer/thrust plate
