Someone said that I was posting a lot on here so I wanted to see how much I really was!!!
I've been on here for about 7 years so with 2,356 post, that’s about { ! } that’s one post a day.
Is that too much??? What do you guys think??? and is that threads started or reply's???

I have found that, on the groups I belong to, each group may be large, but there is a "core" of people who do most of the communicating. If you lose that core group, it would be a very boring place. :-) Post away!
Hey Kurt - there's no such thing as "too much" in regard to posting on this site as long as the topic is relevant and the information exchange continues to be appreciated by the majority of the members.
I know that I'm a relatively low poster with only 706 posts however I do "bloviate" a bit now and again, as do many of us - but for the most part, I appreciate the information and the vast base of automotive knowledge represented here, yours included good buddy!
We hot rod types tend to be passionate about what we know and believe. We love our cars, guns, wives, dogs, Harleys, kids, grand kids, etc.. (not always in that order mind you!) As such, a bit-o-politics and deep seated personal convictions may spill over among the car talk and most of us are okay with that.
We've got a great moderator here who lets us go off track for a while but typically reins things in at an appropriate time.
Best car forum on the web (in my opinion) and you're one of the guys that make it so good!

if you go to your profile. then up below the flag click on where it says "full statistics". that will take you to where you can see every thread that you started, as well as every post that you replied to. I don't think you get an actual count, but it does separate them out for you if you want to count them yourself.

I have a Question for you. The guys are telling to use PPG paint.
But I can't find a supplier in my area, but there is a dupont dealer is that
paint any good?

i think dupont invented paint ,, i use whatever my company i work for throws away .. we paint a lot of airplane and space stuff and paint expires pretty quick .. yet is still plenty good .. mostly DEFT brand .. and you need to post a bit more .. you`re not in the top ten yet

Of the "active" people here today I think Larry M, Bill (Mr. Mustang) and I are the only one's who've been here since day one or two of the forum. A couple more of the earliest folks pop in at odd/infrequent increments. My appologies to anyone I've forgotten/missed.
Back when we were trying to get this thing off the ground the few had to create posts to spark some interest and get participation. Over time people would walk through the door, some stayed, many didn't. More and more momentum built as folks came and went, posting the while. If I remember correctly it took almost 3 years for the first person to exceed 1000 posts, but it was about that time that sufficient membership had accrued and the ball has kept rolling since. Problems? Yeah a few. Sadly, to me anyway, somewhere along the way we've lost about the first 2 1/2 years of posts and pictures from another couple years after that. Don't know if that's results of several server failures, or the need to save bandwidth, but some interesting site history is lost. So, post away, keep building.
As for post count, the total number reflects both thread starts and posts to others (although, again, some of the earliest posters have lost some number count as well). If you go to your profile page (just click on you screen name for dropdown) in the upper right are "mini statistics", within that box are "show all statistics". When you click that another screen will open that breaks out the ones you've started and the ones you've responded to (with the exception of the one's lost to history if you've been around long enough).
Yep, you are posting way too much. I think everyone who has more than 100 posts is just a post ho and should be censured. :p:LOL::LOL:

I hate to have an opinion, because whatever you say about brands will cause somebody here to tell you that you are wrong. The most important thing to remember is that you need to choose one, and if it works for you, stick to it. Each brand works differently, and you don't want to try to go through a new learning curve, figuring out how to make it work, on every job. Also you will need to see what brands are available to you locally.Quote:

Well spoken or should that be written Glenn. That sums up this site nicely and I, being a new member, is truly astonished at how those core members have been so welcoming and helpful. So Kurt , it is not so much about how many posts or threads one starts, it is more about how one can reach out and touch someone with a few kind words of encouragement or help that matters and the guys that have replied to your question are some of those absolutely good friendly people that make this site the best. Post what's on your mind, that's what the lounge is for. You never know how it may help someone. Just the other day you mentioned you were disabled so am I although it was not from the service but nonetheless I'm screwed up. If you hadn't mentioned that I would not have know your approximate age. If you would have said something to one of my post I many have thought you were a young guy but that is not the case so post what's on your mind.

I peep on a number of sites like many of you guys do.One site certain members feel a post count is the main focus(not is one) and content is secondary to that.Drives me nuts.If it wasn't for post stat's driving search engines,I would be arguing with site management to eliminate post counts.For me I don't really care what my counts are.I see something I want to be involved in and post to it or find something I think other members would find interesting and create a thread.
So post whatever you want.
I am not totaly disabled thru the millatary, only partly.
I was driving gas tankers for the last 20 years.
Though my disabilties are connected the Doctors have to
tie evrything together to up my disabiilty thru the millatary now.
I just started getting regular disabiilty thru SSI after two years.
Good thing I had that check from the millatary and disabilty insurance
or I would have been in trouble.

Well,I have started a few threads,and I have stuck in my 2 cents worth from time to time...I tread carefully on here,as I dont want to upset any of you guys...I think I can honestly say that this site has given me a lot of info on various things,and will continue to..And the banter between certain people has always added to the mix,without any bad language/feelings.and big headedness[is that a real word?]..:confused:Keep it up,its good..[mostly]:D

I always seam to have to much to say. But as far as catching Don, I don't think that will ever happen. I swear he must be posting in his sleep, but thats what Ho's do. Right Don!!! HE! HE! HE! I've built some small fences from time to time and I always end up with extra post, but I have never been able to count very well. As soon as we get the other three rooms painted and some new doors installed Bob me and the wife will be heading back to Vegas. That way when we walk out the front door we are not attacted by every bug know to man. Plus 85 degrees here in Florida feels like 130 in Vegas. Here it never cools off atleast in Vegas at night it does. And you don't have to worrie about Mosquitoes flying off with your children.
