Watched the races for free

Back when I was in the Army stationed at Fort Ord in California I got to watch some races for free. The Base boarderd Salinas, Seaside, and Monteray. Well since I was a Sniper the company would send me off to scout
areas where they thought another agressing company might be.
You know war games and all that stuff, anyway they would hand me a prick 47 and off I would go with my my rifle in hand. Oh the prick 47 was about a 40 pound radio, so I could call back and let them know what I found.
Anyway I would get out there and look around and call back what ever I happened to see. Anyway they would tell me to hang out for a while then head back. So when I went to Hang out I would go over to this big mountain
where I could see for miles with my scope. And what was just below the mountain I was sitting on, but Laguna Seca.
Yep there I would sit watching them testing cars and motor cycles and more than afew times some good races.
That was one of my better memories of my time in the service, sitting out on the side of a mountain eating my sea rations and watching the races.

And Kurt, you were just following orders, ah, like have a look around to see what ever, watch it for awhile,and then go home. Heck that sounded like fun training and a good peaceful memory to keep.
How is your legs holding out these days Kurt, I got just under 7 weeks to go before part 1 of 3 operations to fit me with new knees. I can't wait!!!
Keep those little memorys alive young man because they are part of who you are.

Man Whiplash I feel for you, hope you have a good doctor.
I don't want to scare you but I was talking to some of the
guys down at the VA that had it done.
Some of them had no problems and others had nothing but problems.
I am trying to hold off as long as possible for them new ones.
So why is it a three part operation?
Also keep a good watch on your legs after the operation for dis color,
you don't need no blood clots messing things up for you.
My knees are still swelled up big as basket balls.

That is not good to hear Kurt about your knees, I hope the local basket ball team don't decide to use your knees for slam dunk practice.. Heck when I'm next in pain I will think of you and hopefully I will feel better.
The first op is to remove the metal plates and screws that I had placed in them 5 years ago to help get some more years out of them before they needed to be replaced. I'm only 55 this year so am keen to back to work to earn some more money to pay for this other sickness I have... (hotrods)

I hear ya on the hotrod sickness. Well I hope all goes well for you.
I guess they plan on keeping you sore for a while, HUH!!!
Like I said before buddy I feel for you.
Makes my knees sore just draining them.When they rebuilt my urithra tube
I told them I was heavier then I was, just to make sure I was good and knocked out.
I knew I didn't want to wake up in the middle of that!!! HE! HE! HE!
