What kind of car does sargent Friday drive in the show, Dragnet?
Lois Lane and Jimmy Olson drove a Metropolitan...... No points for knowing that, huh?
HE! HE! What the heck is a Metropolitan?
I know Friday drove some kind of Ford,
I am not sure what kind it was though.
Looks like a short version of the Galaxy
Never thought I'd catch Jay on one of these. Actually Lois' car was a Nash Rambler convertible, '50 I think. Preceded and larger than the Metro. They did have some similar styling cues though. A bonus: Clark Kent drove a Nash Healey.
Is this the car you mean?
I think I saw a picture of a Peugot... or pugeot... or however you spell it!
You are right! It was Columbo. I'll shut up now. I am clearly not contributing anything here. {:-)
That Nash reminds me of a peddle car my little brother had.
And yes that is the car Bob, what is it?

Thank you Bob.

I think from time to time, they also had an AMC Rambler Ambassador. I know when the show ended and Adam-12 spawned from it, they used AMC's for all the cop cars.. both shows were produced by Mark VII limited.. Jack Webb ( SGT Joe Friday ) directed both shows
What car did the Green Hornet Drive?

A twofer??
A person would sure turn some heads driving one of those.
Of course that may not be such a good thing.
Me and the wife pulled in to a gas station after I had bought her
our 2007 Mustang GT and this guy came up talking a bunch of crap.
This guy started yelling out to other patrons that only people that were
dying for attention would drive a car like that, and started walking around
the car. We have extremly dark tint on the windows and the wife was in the
station and I was sitting in the car,not sure if he knew I was even in there.
Anyway he was driving a beat up mid 80's montecarlo that faded brown and had
tires and rims on it that were two sizes to small. Anyway here are some photo's
of our attention getter. The color is grabber orange. HE! HE! HE! Kurt

Okay... Three minutes to answer, and no Googling! :-)
What was the Batmobile... before it was the Batmobile?
I had heard it was a pontic Bonnoville but then I was corrected.
But I can't remember what it was!!!
Kurt
The three minutes is up! :-)~
The car was formerly a factory showcar called the "Lincoln Futura". If you look close you will see that Merc styling from the '50s.
The movie company had George Barris convert it. He also pulled molds for fiberglass copies, which were also used in the production of the series.
As A kid in the late '50s/early sixties I bought the Revell model kit of the futura. I got back into modeling about 15 years ago, and when the kit was rereleased, I put a new copy on the shelf. :-) Who says you can't go back? I'll see if I can post a picture....
I would have never guessed that.
Kurt
I guess it depends on when you started watching. I remembered their car as a '53 Ford. Here's a photo of our beloved crimebusters peeling out from the police station garage on their way to fight the bad guys....
