Don
Happy Mothers day to all you Mothers out there.
HE! HE! HE! That just don't sound right.
Allready talked to my mother, gonna order her some food from her favorite
restrant. Since she is in a wheel chair, she does not get around very good
and she will enjoy it. Best way they say to a man's heart is food and cars, this also goes for some Mothers like mine. Mom always had a converable to cruz down the Las Vegas Strip in when we were kids. Those were some good times cruzing in mom's convertable listening to the radio, with the hot wind in your face. And comming home for lunch from school to eat grilled chez and tomato soup and watch soap's on TV.
What's your memories of you and your mom.
Kurt
Hmmmm........think I'll just leave that one alone for today.....
Even after 60+ years in this country Mom's Italian accent is thick enough to cut with a knife. Fond, fond memories of food of the Mediteranian variety and the nuturing. Happy day to all the Mothers out there.
Hmmmm........think I'll just leave that one alone for today.....
What? You off the clock today or something?:D
Don
Maybe he's one of those kids the parents feed with a sling shot!!!
Just kidding Bob, HE! HE! HE!
Kurt
Happy Mother's day all. For those of us whose mom's are no longer with us, cherise the time with your mom while she is alive.
On behalf of my Mum, A exlarge hug and kiss from my mum down here in NZ. I cooked her special dinner last night of lamb shoulder chops and roast vegies followed by a nice cup of tea. She is thrilled when I read out these posts, so thank you guys, you all made my mum happy.:):):)
Whiplash, I hope you explained Bob to your Mom.........that he's kinda "special." Wouldn't want her thinking you were mixing with a bad bunch on here or anything.:LOL:
Don
Well Don,it is like this, my mum has taken a certain dislike to seeing my laptop open at the breakfast table. She gets rather upset to find that it is still turned on with my face stuck to it in the evening, but she likes it when I give her feed back from you guys.:) I know I should be out in the garage working on the bucket but I'm in too much pain with my knees awating knee replacement surgery soon. How is that rebuild of the '27 coming along and also is it Dan that is building the roadster pickup????
Your Mum sounds like a great lady, I bet you are proud. :)
The engine for the 27 is all back together after my little fiascos, and I am planning on firing it up again next week after some new parts come from Summit. I eliminated the mechanical fuel pump, my Son Don gave me a new electric pump he had, and am waiting for a pressure regulator and some linkage to hook that all up.
Dan's RPU is almost ready for primer. He keeps finding little things to do that sidetrack him, like getting the stereo and speakers mounted and modifying the dash so his steering shaft can exit a little higher. But he is getting close. He is really burned out on it and just wants it done at this point, which is good.........maybe he will be less fussy. Thanks for asking.
Don
Well whiplash it sounds like your mom had a good mothers day.
My mother called to thank me for the food I had sent to her house.
She lives in Canton Ohio and I am in Tampa Florida so she was not expecting it.
I wanted to do something differant for her since I normally send flowers.
Kurt
Hi Kurt and Don, yes mum is special to me and you know on mothers day she was more concerned about all the mothers stuck in retirement homes waiting for that daughter or son to come visiting. I promised my mum that I would look after her at home here as she did with her mum who died of cancer at home under mums watchful eye. It is sad that there is too many people in this world that don't appreciate their parents while they are able. An old Porter Wagoner song always comes to my mind on such occasions,"House of Shame" ,now I am showing my age!!!!;););) Kurt, one can not steal those memories of you and your mum crusin' the strip in your mum's covertible, they are priceless...:):):)
Now I am gonna have to go look for that song, Whiplash.
Yep they were good times with mom and my brothers and sister.
Now we are spread out all over the country from New York to Las Vegas,
Hawii, Ohio and Florida. I guess we got this land covered HE! HE!
Kurt
Whiplash...You had lamb chops and roast veges???you swine...:Dif I had known that,we would have gone home via Pukekohe, from Tauranga,,[only 3hours out of the way]:Dprobably could have got there in time for dinner,too...Lynda and i went up to the over rated Bay of Plenty for the weekend to see my mother, whose on her own now,did a few little jobs around the place and went out for our usual Chinese on saturday night,,:whacked:A good weekend, but now dreaming of roast lamb....
Sorry Robin, I only read your post now as last night was one of those that the pain had got to me all day and wasn't in a good place mood wise,so I was in bed by 7.00pm after taking a heap of pain killers. You and Lynda would of been welcome as I had prepared too much as usual and had heated up lamb the next day too. I read somewhere that you and Lynda will be in Tauranga for the swapmet at the end of June. I got a PM from Hotrod Todd today asking if I will be going which I will reply to today. But had my meeting with the anasthetist yesterday and he told me that part one of my knee surgery will be within the next month,so I may not be capable of attending. Now, 25mm ROE spanner just may come in handy one day when you do find that big nut.:LOL:
Whats did you do to your knees Whiplash?
I've allready had mine worked on but it didn't help me
I fell from a helle training with the Army Rangers though I was a Sniper not a Ranger.
Anyway Now I got bad rheumatoid arthritis so they are not getting any better and nethier is anything else including my lungs. I didn't know that Arthritis could effect the lungs but it can and can it ever. Now I have problems breathing and live on pain pills.
I hope yours works out good for you anyway.
Kurt
Heck Kurt, just read your post out to mum,and we are surprised to to hear about your knees and how it has effected your lungs. My story is very boring really. After my wife and I seperated, I decided it was time to reinvent myself, I wasn't happy with the middle age spread (weight) I had gained so decided to take up road running again, not realizing that the little cartilage I had left in my knees was not up to that sort of punishment. 5 years ago I had surgery on each leg where metal plates and screws were placed to straighten my legs so that my weight now was on the remainder cartilage, but now I have worn that down to bone grinding on bone they are going to give me some new knees, chrome plated with a grease nipple I hope.:LOL: Another thing that has my doctor concerned is that my liver is showing signs of deteriorating because of the number of pain killers I have been taking so I have been put on top priority. :HMMM: What is really frustrating is that while I can't work, I should be out in the garage working on the bucket, but I turn this computer on and that is that for most of the day!!:LOL::LOL:
I hear you on that one, My wife is allways telling me to get off the computer.
But she knows when I am in pain this is where I end up.
Greasie nipples what will they think of next? HE! HE! HE!
