Here's a little view of where we were 104 years ago. This is San Francisco just a few days before the big quake. A study in "organized" chaos. Interesting mix of the transition from hore to horseless, pedestrian anarchy, and what might be interpreted as a more relaxed pace of life.
What Happened? I fell asleep.

don't know about the "hore" but the pedistrians are brazen and brave - - - I guess they had the right of way, eh???
I enjoyed watching it but I had to turn the volume off - - - - I could have chosen a much better soundtrack for that video
For those who don't know that is Market street heading east down to the Ferry Building. There is another movie taken after the quake I believe on Market again that shows some of the destruction.

Thanks for the flick Uncle Bob!!! Amazing clarity considering the era it was filmed, what kind of camera were you using? Did anyone else notice Richard and Ken in one of the roadsters that was among the uncoming traffic? Not sure, but I think it was Don riding the big white horse but I'm not sure....as usual he was moving too fast!

We got that video a few weeks back,cant remember who sent it,but,yes,very interesting...Just having a good little laugh with the light stirring between you guys...:LOL::LOL: always necessary to have fun...we poke a bit of around to wake up the troops..nothing harmful[I hope]...**)
This film was one of the earliest 35mm shoots, that's why it had to be sent to NY for processing.
It took some doing but I was able to clip an individual frame that you might of missed as the scenes went rolling by. With all those horses a certain amount of........um.......sanitation remediation was necessary. Though Pops is well known for shoveling bull nowadays, back then he was tossin' road apples.:D
