I was trying to help my sister sell her husbands truck, he bought a new one, and seven days later he died. I made up a page on my site to link to, and just before I put the truck on the sale thread I read the rules.
I hope if I put a link to the page that I won't be doing anything improper if so just delete it, and I'll understand.

Yeah it's a shame she stayed in Utah while he was building a house in TN. He was already retired from the Military on disability. My sister had to wait one more year before she could retire. My sister was in TN. one Month before he died. You just never know when it's our time to go.

Sorry to hear this news Richard. I wish I could afford a truck now! My prayers are with you and your Sister for your lose. My mom died a year after retirement from cancer! She was one year from paying off her mortgage. Great lady, raised three of us, and provided well, without help from my dad who left her for another woman, and kept repeating himself down the line, until he himself died alone in France last week. Seems it's true only the good die young!:(

Steve, my brother in-law spent just over a year in TN. while the house and his dream garage/shop was being built. Steve had a lot of wood working equipment so he did get to enjoy the last year of his life. Steve was like my brother in the fact that he just turned 62 got one S.S check before he died. Now with my sister she has had anything but a good year staying behind in Utah for a year trying to sell the house and working until she could retire at 60. Once again she is left to try to sell the house and 8 acres, she cannot afford it with her retirement alone.
Thanks Steve, it’s always a shock when something like this happens. That ‘s too bad about your Mother just when they think they can relax do some things they always wanted to do the unexpected happens. From the time I have had contact with you through this site I will say your Mother did an excellent job of raising her children. Your brother sounded like a good guy also from what you said about him serving our Country. Too bad about your dad he missed out having an opportunity of having a great family.

Thanks Richard. Your parents did a fine job too! If your sister sells her home in Ohio, could she keep the new place (not sure if she would get any of her husbands retirement?). It's such a shame to have stuff happen, to good folks who worked the dream, and then have it snatched just as it comes true!

My sister was in Utah, she sold that house just before she retired, and unfortunately they put most of their money in the home in Tennessee. They would have been ok with both retirement checks but my sister cannot do this by herself, she had so many extras hit her all at once. After seeing what my sister has gone through I can see how a person could end up on the street real quick. One minute they had money, a new house, motor home, plus everything a couple could hope to have, then just like a market crash it’s gone.
This would be an ideal place for someone that would want to retire to the country with acreage, new house, nice big shop, and country porch to sit on with a view.
Her husband was buried in Ohio, that’s where we originated from but like a lot of family’s we settled in other places.
