I always enjoyed his constructive advice, had a question some topic and he called and gave me the specifics on the project, never met him but was a pleasure to here from him on the site. Our prayer for all his family and friends he touched.

Dave,
Thanks for posting, I was not aware of Jay's passing. I read the responses on the HAMB, and I have been fighting away the tears-Jay was obviously loved by many, a truly unique individual, and has left behind an undelible trail-he will be sorely missed. I read his many postings-he would always give me something to ponder-Godspeed sir, you were/are a great man-
Jay will be missed. I looked back at a few of my threads and reread some usefull words and helpfull advice. I send my condolences out to Gay and your family. I hope he's hot rodding where ever he may be now!
If you havent read Jay's book stuff, you are missing a super neat trip back into the old hot rodding days.....do a search on HAMB regarding "The red roadster" or "Doofus and Whiny"
I really brings back memories of the old days.....and it is a great way to remember Jay's talents.

Thanks Mike for bringing up 'Doofus and Whiny'. Jay will be missed by many. Seemed to always have good advice. Godspeed Jay!
sad to hear of his passing, cruise the heavenly highways brother...............scooter
I haven't posted here in a long time, but just saw the thread of Jay's passing on the HAMB... When I got my deuce a few years ago there were a handful of older guys that stuck out as helpful and knowledgable, without being "know it alls"... Jay was at the top of that list. When I had lots of questions, He was always willing to help me out with a problem and never talked down to me because i was a rookie rodder. It's really a loss to the hot rod community to not have him around anymore. Just sort of makes you realize life is not infinite. He will certainly be missed. Thanks for everything C9.... Peace be with you. -Joe Barr
