Out crusin around yesterday, up in Jerome AZ and what did I find, but my next project.
As far as I can find from searchin less than 1400 of these were built.
It's 100% complete, all the glass is good,converted to 350/350,PS PB
about 98% rust free.
Ought look good SLAMMED,2 tone paint.:cool:

Rare means nothing...But that car is cool SO GO FOR IT:D

Being an AMC person, I have seen Pacers listed as rare. As far as I was concerned, it was way over priced but then I don't really care for Pacers either. To me, "rare" seems to be used whenever the seller wants a little extra money out of the car. So if you want it, get it and do with it what you want.
I always read that any model with a production of under 5,000 units is rare. I would agree with these other guys that rare does not always mean desireable, but the 1960 Chevies were good looking, and that would make yours rare AND desireable! :-)

Two door wagons seem to be real scarce after about model year '57 (except for the early Falcons, and slightly later, Vegas and Pintos). Depending on the style you go for, that roof rack might be incongruous. Unless you're going low rider chic the pipes probably have to go. Mightly clean looking start. That one Pat posted is pretty cool. Here's a picture of (I think) the same car from a different angle. I don't take many pictures at rod runs so to have this one it must have really stood out..............I like it!
Back when I was just starting out in the hobby seriously w a low production model car
(1800 built) an old timer told me -"Rare means it was not popular when new and probably will not be at resale, If you like it, keep it and do it as YOU like it. Just don't plan on retiring at resale" My experiance since has proven that true. The exception I have found would be models that were not, but now are popular such as your wagon or ultra luxury or HP cars that few of us could afford when young (think hemi darts , Ford GT's, Cobra AC or L88 Stingrays). Nice start!

If you go out on E-may, I can find reproduction parts that are currently being made mass-produced today listed as "rare". I just thought it was something everyone was required to put on a car or parts listing..... ha ha.
That car was on CraigsList in Prescott or Flagstaff....good catch. I'll bet the glass is tough to find!

Well, rare is rare--and with that low of production numbers it's a heck of a good catch!!!! Best thing about rare, is that when it's done you ain't going to go to a show and park beside a whole bunch more just like it!!!!! I'm still looking for the '57 Ford version of your wagon... Had one spotted once and let it get away, good to see you didn't do the same with this one!!!!!
That's a great looking long roof, especially because it is a two door. What a great cruising, long trip driver this thing would make. I like it a lot.:):)

Cool project, looks like a nice find too. Jerome Az is a neat place too. Was there last year and love that ole mining town.

Very cool find, especially because it is in such great shape! I can't emphasize enough to friends looking for projects that a few extra bucks for a cherry vehicle will be cheaper than a cheap beater by the time your done! Plus that one is ready to cruise now by the looks of it. I think jacking it up in the back would be way cool! I'm getting tired of everything lowered these days. :)
