I went to the radiator shop to drop off my radiator, they said they could fix it for $75 to $100.

How far can most car guys go before they have to turn around?
I went 3 miles; that may be a record. It's not what I would want to drive but there is some good metal, and maybe you could sell the original drive train and chassis. What is it worth?:HMMM:

Does anyone have photo shop to make it a street rod?

The asking price of 8k is about all its worth if its a good runner. About the only thing you could use hot rod wise is the sheet metal. Personally the only thing Id use is the body. And youre not gonna get your money (or even close to it) when you sell off the rest. JMHO.....:p

Yeah, I went by it again today on my way to the Dentist. This time I just gave it a glance, just not what I like. It's like you said, it would not be worth it by the time you try to use the body only.

No, that one is best left to an antique car buff who likes original cars. The body is probably worth $ 3000-$ 4000 by itself, depending on how bad you want one, and you would be hard pressed I think to get $ 4000 out of the rest.

Now, if the car were $ 5000 it might be a different story.

Guys, there just may be another way of looking at this deal. Considering the cost of some of the new All Steel bodies now being built and there cost. As an example Brookville's duece body is going for North of $12,000 or so deals can be found for them at $10,000 sometimes, the New to be released Duece 3 wondow coupe in all steel is going to cost around $25,000 just for the BODY, there are some A Bones being built as well and the prices for the Model A roadster is $10,000 to $15,000 depending on which rod Shop you deal with.

Now I completly realize that this is a "T" coupe and not a Duece, but with the price these steel cars are demanding and considering the fact that there are No "T" bodys being reproduced at this time. Maybe that 8 grand aint that bad after all. You certainly will be able to recoupe some of the money by selling the unwanted parts. The $8,000 is not too bad by itself,l add to that any money reclaimed, and this may not be such a bad deal after all.

Just some thoughts............

Wouldn't work for me at that price..... Just not that much demand for the original T parts, unless you want to give them away. Doubt seriously you could recoup anything substantial selling what you don't need. Just not as popular and price crazy as Deuces or even Model A's. And if it's not what you want anyway, there's a lot of ways to lose that much money without doing near as much work!!!!!!!!:whacked::whacked::whacked::LOL::LOL::LOL:

This looks like a pretty solid body however, need an up close and personal look to be sure, but it looks solid from these photos. If that is the case there would not be that much more work than say a Brookville Body if the condition is good.

As far as recouping some money, that would depend intirely on who the buyer was and HIS interest, no matter what some folks on here have to think about it. There is a buyer for everything, even "T,s" somewhere....

When I first saw the car, I thought if a person could get it for around $5,000 it may not be a bad deal. The wheels should be worth a little if there are still a few guys doing these cars.

I like what you posted Don, it sure puts a different spin on the T.

What I could see of the body is like the pictures, no signs of repaired or patch panels, and it looked really good. The glass had some condensation on the inside but that could be from the weather stripping.

You never know how bad a person wants to sell, or why. Real steel should be worth something just how much I guess depends on how many projects a guy has already.

I really like tall T's, but I agree $8k is a bit much for that car. The body does look straight and solid from what I can see, but you are going to spend a minium of $20k to rod it, unless you rat it.

Offer $5k for it. Owner can only say no, and if he wants to sell it bad enough he might come down on the price. Otherwise he will have to wait until a restorer or someone with deeper pockets comes along. And in this economy that might take a while.:(

My 27 T coupe is one of my favoite rods. BUT....you can buy buildable T bodies on Ebay all day long. So they are still available. The most Ive seen a nice T body sell for was around 2k and it was very nice. So buying this one for 8k would be a loosing situation. :o

Don't be a lazy ass,and cut up a good hole old car,that's way wrong to cut up a car like that one even if it were a lot cheeper.
Too much old stuff that needs saving and makes good rods.

Nice Photoshopping toldyouso, I would love to get one of these and set it up with an SHO V6 for my kids first car. Put a good stereo and heater in it. Full fenders and simple black paint. Good fun cheap car. . . .!
