I remember sending young airmen for buckets of "prop wash" and two hundred yards of "flight line"..

We really did use whiffle trees and snatch blocks and when I was stationed with a Special Operations group in Europe we had a Tactical Weapons Alert Team (TWAT) and had to change the name when we had a qualified woman applicant.. Go figure, eh?
