so i was at the local autoparts store and i seen this 1959 mercury montery in the parking lot so i was talkin to him and asked if it were for sale and he said i guess so i asked how much and he gave me a price and im picking it up tommarow. im just wandering what you guys think.

Nice! I think the cars of this era will become more popular soon. I saw a '59 Olds at a show last weekend, and it was getting a lot of attention! It might be because we've all looked at the popular bodies sooooo much, that they start to look common and uninteresting.

congrats on the vintage ride! Love the two tone black and red. Some of those old Montery's had very cool features like roll down rear windows and push button shifters built into the dash. I always thought those late fifties early sixties cars had a sinester look to them. Must feel cool to sit up front , one hand on the wheel, another across the bench seat to your wife cruising down the road listening to some tunes!:cool:
oh you know i will. it needs a paint job and i love to make everything i own custom like air ride or custom bodywork but this is so nice i dont think i can cut it up.
this does have the roll down rear windows but it a 3 on the tree manual. and ive got more looks in this today than i have cruzin in my chaneled show truck. and i love it.Quote:

eyepoppin, I sure will. Do you go to the James Dean show in Fairmont? I plan on taking the Merc there this year. Maybe take the SS Impala to the super Chevy show in Indy, maybe the Goodguys show also. If you ever go by the Olive Garden on grape rd. Mishawaka, and see the Merc stop by have someone say my head lights are on, and I'll know it's you.

ill do that. ive been going to car showes for years but mostly mini truck shows so im not familiar with the dates and places i'd like to hit a goodguys show this year for sure as im looking at moving away from building mini trucks and imports and going back into building more of the street rods and hot rods. i've got a buddy that has a 66 chevy stepside that is full show and its gorgeous youll have to see it i know hes been talkin bout going to more of the hot rod shows so maby he'll want to cruze with me. but let me know when these shows are and maby we can hook up and cruze down.Quote:

The Super Chevy Show is also at Indy everything from Street Rods, Tri five Chevy’s, muscle cars, if it's a Chevy it's there, sometimes they will let a other cars in with a Chevy engine, it’s a good show. Your buddy's 66 Chevy truck would be a big hit at all three shows. The James Dean show is really good you can see some really nice customs, plus just about everything in between. There are three shows going on during the weekend. That show is the third weekend in September.
