Nice find! I had one years ago, mine was a 1960. I loved it, but it was totaled in an accident. I didn't know how well those things could roll.
I can tell from the pictures that you got a really nice one, hell yours even has a gas guage!! Mine didn't, just a little metal rod on the inside firewall that you turned to turn on the reserve tank.
From time to time I have thought of doing what you have done, but I think I going to hold out for a Karmann Ghia convertible. Place near me has a least 4 of them for sale and a half dozen beetles. Just got to get a good price.

I check in everyday and some are better than others. I don't think Brent has anything to do with the forum anymore, but I'm not sure. Hopefully as time moves on the forum will get better.
