I was reaching up for something and brought my arm down quick tonight and with full force I smashed my funny bone on my steering wheel bolt. It hurt so bad my arm went numb and I was on the verge of throwing up! I still can't bend it all the way but I think I made up some new phrases.
Just thought I'd share this to make you guys feel better.

have done the same, but what really hurts is when the car is up on all fours with the drivers door open you crawl out and "attempt" to stand up right into the bottm of the door! :D
i love it when i cut a piece of metal off with a toarch then reach and pick it right up bare handed when it drops on the floor .. does`nt take long to let go of it ..
I think my best was while learning brazing in school, I moved the rod out of the way to see how my work looked, and ran the hot tip of the rod down my left forearm.
I'd love to know what sadistic S.O.B. named it the funny bone anyway. It's never been funny when I've hit it!
i love hot steel rolling in your ear and hearing your ear waxs sizzles praying for more ear wax . i also know what i smell like then i burn myself PORK .or have a hot pice of steel hit your eye roll down and burn you eye lid burn a small hole in the white of your eye and turn its yellow. i know that a hot brazing rod can almost burn thru you ear if good and hot .here are just a few of my fond memorys ..some of them i enjoy so much i like to do them every now and then:whacked:

Yep done the fingernail thing---a bit of farmboy rememberance---My dad used to carve a notch at the base of a thumbnail when he put the boar hog in with the sows---when it grew out it was time to pin up the sows for the coming baby pigs.
some time go i was running the gto at the track.i went to cool it down .the engine was running went turn the rad cap off and what sounded like a kids bike with stick in the wheel where my two fingers . stainless steel flex fan was a wee bit tall then my fingers on the cap split my fingers thru the nails and bone . my freind did not want to see them. he ask if it hurt i told him only when the wind blows thru them :whacked: got a ride in the meat wagon from the track to the hospital were they stitch thru the finger nail s
i got scars like that----was running a model airplane engine in a vise stand---battery fell and I reached out and caught it---thru the carbon fibre prop turning several thousand rpm---It was like on June 20 and I was due to go to Fairbanks Alaska and then on north to the Artic Circle to see the summer midnite sun thingie
Golphers elbow and tennis elbow both here. I live with some level of that sensation most of the time.
Sean when I was 21 I was moving to Santa Barbara to go to school. I had a 1972 Honda 750 as my main form of transportation. Somewhere near Solidad, I stopped for dinner. When I retraced my steps to the highway on ramp, as I was accelerating, I noticed someone had completely baracaded the onramp(mind you it was very dark out)! I layed the bike down going 50 mph and cracked my elbow right over the funny bone. I can't tell you how much that hurt! It is still about ten times more sensitive than the uncracked one, 24 years later! Hope you feel better!
Ah, the memories. Almost anyone who has worked with machinery and such other stuff with bolts and blades and fire has a slew of tales to tell. I hit my elbow, actually the back of my arm just above where the elbow flexes, on the pointy end of a 5/8 drive bolt one time; made me lose my breakfast. Got whacked on the elbow by a fan blade running at about 1200RPM - said "owitch" and a few other things nice; when I got my vision back, there were a couple of ladies standing in the station drive with their mouths hanging open, and looking like they wanted to flee. Just recently, I split my left pointer finger thru the nail clear up to the first knuckle by getting it in the way of a drill bit as it grabbed and popped trough a sheet metal piece; it doesn't look like it will ever get "normal" again. As with many other pursuits, there are only those who have, and those who will.
Yep, met too, got my thumb between the saw and frame of a power hacksaw the week before Christmas one year, had to drill a couple holes in it so that I could sleep that night. There was still some black on the tip of the thumb nail on the next 4th of July.

Did ya know that if ya take the handle extension off of a really big floor jack the spring designed to neutralize the weight of the entire handle will swing the remaining half up hard & fast enough to bloody your nose?
