Was cleaning some stuff off of the computer and ran across some really neat pictures. Most of this is pics of In The Day. Take a look any of you "OLD" guys remermber any of this?? I DO!! Hows about putting a name to some of these old Towns and Citys.
A few more. Take a look at that Chevy "W" BB dragster couldn't have been to many of those!
OK so the dragster wasn't in there, what can I say?? I'm old.

Here's a few more. Couple of these are "Concept" cars any body got a guess as to what manufacturer and what year? Also on the sad side both of these concept cars as well as all four of the Corvette Cocept cars in the above post were crushed right after the final photos were taken. That was and still is the standared fate for almost all "Concept" cars. The exception being just a small handful of three or four Concept Corvettes that Harley Earl was able to save.
Pictures like that are so much fun to look at. Thanks for sharing.:)

Yea, Stovens I think that is the reason. I remember on the TV show Trucks a year or two ago with that guy that is hosting the Gearz show now Casey David, or what ever his name is. A few of there project trucks showing lift Kits and such, the trucks were donated to the show by the manufacturer like Chevy or Ford or Dodge. All of those project trucks "Had" to be crushed as well. The said it was something like you mention Liablity or some lame a%$ reason.
Now Chevy nor any of the manufacturer called and asked my opinion but for what its worth. It would seem to me that they should have a museum were these old and the not as yet built Concept vehicles could be preserved for us all to see. I would gladly pay for the chance to see them from time to time. But what do I know?

Your two "prototype" cars are 1955 Ford Mystere and either 1954 or5 Chevrolet Impala (similar lines but different detail from the Biscayne motorama car). On the Impala especially the sharp of eye can pick up a number of styling features that show up in actual production cars years later.

The third picture is somewhere in Ohio, could be Dayton, but I'm thinking closer to Cleveland.
I'm surprised no one's taken a shot at the last car pictured...........famous customizer, still going strong.

NTFDAY, Pretty good!! But can you nail it down a little better? Heres another photo of the same city a few years later, also no checking licsense plates for hints. I left the caption on the bottom just to give you a heads up.
Next photo is a little tricky the one of the Chevy police car. Anyone willing to take this location on? Actaully there are enough clues in the background to get pretty close.

I don't think the pictures are of Dayton because of the lack of overhead trolley wires. At the time, late50's/60's, Dayton had a large public transportation system that employed both diesel buses and electric trolley cars. Also in that period it was pretty easy to tell where a car in Ohio had been registered by the license plates. In the southern part of the state,say Cincinnati for instance, the plate numbers could have been like 50 AA, while in the northern part of the state, say Cleveland for instance, the plate numbers could have been like AA 50. My grandfather, who lived in or around Lebanon, Ohio for years, had LN 69 as his plate number for decades.Quote:

Pretty good deduction skills there Bud. But in the early picture taken I think in 1957 arn't those trolly car wires up there? But what do I know I was born and raised in East Texas, and thought most of my youth Ohio was in the middle. It is one or the other of those you mention ------ But which one??
