While many commodities have tailed off recently I would guess that gold has held somewhat due to the overall economic fear, and the investment community not having confidence in a broad range of investment vehicles.............for comfort they're in cash and precisious metals (but not to excesses that would push the price higher at an accelerated rate). When the world begins to come out of the pending/existing recession it's a good bet commodity demand will accelerate again and we'll be whining about the price of steel, oil, copper, and so on unless we do something about increasing production of these commodities to keep pace with demand (don't bet on our pending government structure to address the energy needs with realistic solutions for example).Quote:

   I'm not betting on any government or any of it's programs to do one dang thing positive regarding the rest of the country!!!!! In retrospect, I believe my present mindset actually began the day they shot JFK!!!! Could actually have been before that, but I thought Kennedy was kewl and Jackie was gorgeous!!! I was young an impressionable, what can I say????? :rolleyes:Quote:

I've invested in cervesa. I figure it will go up in value, due to increased sales, as the economy goes down.....if I get too stressed over it all, I can self medicate.....and if things get better, I can use it for the celebration!
......I was gonna buy it anyway. :-)~
if things do not get any better i will be the first making a withdraw:eek::3dSMILE:Quote:

I'll start by putting together a couple banners & sponsor list for the upcoming tree lighting ceremony.
Then I have a couple ''emergency area'' signs to make and 600 CNC cut PVC rack tags to cut for a company.
Then I have a 32 ford pedal car to letter as a Christmas present for a customers daughter.
Then I have to put graphics on a new Tahoe. They have to match the graphics on the motor home the customer pulls it with.
By then I'll be tired and won't feel like worrying about currency stability so I'll go to sleep.
The next day I'll do something similar but different.
The day after that I'll eat turkey and be thankful I live in this country. :)
A practical, workable plan!!!! If you eat a bit less turkey and excuse yourself from the table before the pumpkin pie comes around you could even squeeze in a few hours on the 'maro!!!!!!Quote:

Actually, because of work schedules we won't be having turkey until Thursday evening.....so who knows what I might do during the day. :whacked: :D
Just eager for you to get that 'maro done so we can go down to Richard's house to play!!!!!!  :eek:Quote:

But I have some sheet metal and some fiberglass out there. Enough to keep me busy most of the winter.
Understanding the banking system in this country will leave you upset, to say the least. Here's a great quote from Henry Ford......
"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."
Henry Ford
At one time I was involved in transporting dressed chickens from De to New England and returned with produce to the Washington DC area.It didnt take me long too see how fragile our food supply system was and still is .Most of our food is in 3 places - in the ground or nearby processing plants ,in trucks being taken from the processor to the distributor- and in the wharehouse/super market.Trucks by the thousands roll into the distribution centers every night , 365 days a year,at the same time the items are arriving at one side , other stuff brought in last night is going out the other side . At no time is there more than a few days supply of food available .It must be constantly be resupplied. There is very little of any thing we use in any of the stores where we shop, they all are resupplied constantly . A disruption of this chain for longer than a week would put most people in large cities on the brink of disaster .How many of these disruptions could America survive simontaniously .Out of money out of food out of electricity out of water out of fuel out of you name it ,ALL or these things depend on an uninterupted flow of goods, Block the Mississippi river bridges, scare the trucks off the interstate highways, have a few riots going on in every major city and we are toast .Think about it how hard would that be to do .
Hmmmm. Sounds like the beginning of a revolution to me!!!! Any idea what the start date is????Quote:
