I was hoping you would see this one Tom. :D
Here is the bottom line IMO. The situation here is not simply that of someone voicing their opinion based on personal experience (like it would be if I said I bought a particular product and was unhappy with it or the service) but rather someone going way overboard and using his position to purposefully damage the reputation and income of a company.
I base that feeling on what I saw occur in the Corky Coker situation. The Administrator of that forum (same guy being sued here) would not let up. Every day it was a new attack and it was being fueled by a few "Cheerleaders" who kept telling him that "we are behind you 100 percent, you are doing the right thing here." I feel he got on an ego trip that time and is very lucky Corky simply took the high road and ignored him till Jon got bored and went away. Streetbeasts evidently did exactly what I would have done, filed a lawsuit to protect their business.
Sidenote: I'm not quite sure what you are seeing here Bill that constitutes shutting down this thread. Maybe the early comments I made were not in the best taste, but it is back on course and no different than a lot of other threads that wander off topic and then resume back on course. The thread starter put in his input and we are simply either agreeing or disagreeing with his position. It would be a pretty boring forum if all we had were threads in which we all agreed with any information posted.
I am also very suspicious when I see a poster with only 20 odd posts come on here and "alert" us to something happening on another forum. The very same thing happened during the Coker Tire fiasco, Jons "Deciples" felt obligated to go onto many other forums and tell the world about the terrible things Coker was supposed to have done, and wisely, most of the other forums soundly rejected the venom they were spewing. They are simply trying the same tactics here, this time, IMO.
