 really cool
Oh man, John, I just saw the very same costume at Big Lots for $ 3.99.......and you went to ALL THAT WORK!!!!!!!! :p   Hehe, just kidding, Bud. Looks pretty snazzy. What is Mrs.Hotroddaddy going as?
Don
hmmm, looks like Barf Vader from the back, Good job
cool man, lots of work. make sure you use a good sword though, you can probably find a decent one at a cheap imports store or a swap meet.
can your buddy really see good enough to make cuts while wearing that welding mask?

Nice job. I've been working on the Pirate outfit for 3 years now. Last years my wife helped tremendously by helping sew the pirate coat together. This year I got the baderic and real sword. Now all that is left is to get a real pirate shirt, not one of the cheapies they sell on line, but one of thicker good quality fabric. Here is a picture from last year.

Thanks guys, i had alot of fun making it! Now that i have learned so much about the samurai, i might take some time and do a super detailed one. I left a bunch of details off this one.
Don, the wife opted for a geisha girl this year to follow my theme.
Dago, i wish i could use a real sword, but i dont think the law allows swords in bars. Plus who know what could happen if some other drunk got ahold of it.
Nice job steve! Post up some pics this year too.
Buddy L! I wouldn't want to meet either of you in a dark alley!
Incidentally, (and totally irrellevant,) the film "The Last Samurai" was filmed mainly right here in Taranaki, our province of New Zealand.
The mountain in the film is the one that's in my backyard too.
Another piece of totally useless information. :D
Johnboy, that would have been to cool to see the filming of! I have watched that movie atleast 50 times in the last couple of months trying to figure out the armor.
You gonna wear that to the Turkey Run and Billetproof HRD? Lot's of fun could be had.
Soooooooooo...............is Brenda doing the geisha gig?:3dSMILE:
I challenge you with Power Ranger, Dracula, and spiderman. Prepare to meet your maker.

Hotroddaddy,
Your Nihonto (sword) is upside down. When tucked into an obi (belt), the Nihonto is worn blade up.
Just sayin . . .
And can someone resize the 2048 x 2048 photo? I don't have a 50" monitor. :)
