Friday already? Let's see, laid out the frame for the roadster yesterday. Drug the motor out and fired it. Runs great. Wednesday built a A frame hoist out of some left over iron, some found casters and a chrismas China chit chain hoist. Picked up the front of the SS no problem. Deflected less than a 1/8". Tuesday pulled the motor out of the boat for winter storage and built a stand for it and the outdrive. Plumbed in the raw water strainer as long as the motor was out. Monday cleaned shop. Today get off the comp and get back out to the shop and keep bending and cutting on the frame. Welcome back Dave
Big date with the better half! A boat rip across San Francisco bay to Pier 39. Lunch at the Ferry building(nice restaurants there). Watch the Blue Angels fly over the bay, and check out fleet week!
Hot Rod Stuff - finish cleaning, and paint the oil pan, order a new timing chain cover, as the old one is missing an internal chunk of pot metal in one of the water passage areas, and :D consider how much debt to incur ordering other essentials such as new harmonic balancer, and billet alternator brackets!
The long block should be here next week, so next week will be the kicker!
taking all trim off car and cutting out all damaged metal. sanding car back down to get it ready to shoot again. trying to find a reasonable pair of seats to change out my old ones. spending weekend alone in the garage with no phone or kids:D
I got a cra show from morning til 3:00 then its off to a drag race in Moroco from 4:00 til 10:00 to finish off the long day full of nothing but cars.
Playin' on the 'puter for a while. Tech at Friday Night Drags tonight. :D

Workin' over the weekend tryin' to get this '70 Charger ready to spray Plum Crazy Purple....might make an outdoor car show tomorrow night....maybe start some concept drawings for a Nova project....and watch NHRA coverage.
I haven't been on here in a while... Geeze and it's Friday. I wont be working on any of my vehicles really. Going to try and part out this 96 S10 I have to get it out of the yard and start selling some 48 Chevy parts as well. Looks like I wont get much work done on any of my vehicles this fall or winter. I am saving my money and trying to start a mobile detailing and paint repair business so I wont have the time nor money for a long time. With no job and working to make money that goes right back into the business is hard so that means no money in my pocket to blow on any fun toys or hobbies. :(
Finish pulling the new electric feed and telephone wire out of the crawl space so I can get the shop wired ( so I can run more than a 60 watt light bulb )
Later Saturday afternoon help a friend move his 75 firebird from behind his garage and cut down 6 trees, so they can start his 30' X 56' building.

Oh man, annual blood test in morning then head to the shop to finish a time belt job for a customer. Then go tear baby girls drier apart and replace the thermal fuse and figure out a better vent system.Need to try and seal the shops lot before winter. Gotta get the sprint car winterized and on the roller stands and make room for it in the garage.Gotta stop that pesky small roof leak at the house.Need to finish the patch panels and shoot epoxy primer on the garage find 69 442 so it can go to paint. And need to get the metal work finished on the model A. All this and I still can't get that Severson character To come vacation in St.Louis for a few weeks. Dang I offered him a free plane ticket, free room and board, free food from Momma Laurie's kitchen,a free ticket to fright fest @ six flags over mid america, A ticket to Roxie's & the Hustler clubs in E.St.Louis.And a case of Velvet Red from the St.James Winery.
But noooooooooooooooooooo he's gotta treck off to Texas...:3dSMILE: :3dSMILE:  :)
After a quick trip to Vermont and back, plan to finishing repointing my chimney, doing some fishing, take my 37 out for a ride( in the 70's for the next 3 days):) , and then sit down and relax with a 6 pack of Labatts Blue:) :)
back to back races sat and sun to wrap up the season if mother nature agrees with us. put in a new cowl fuel press gauge and headlight switch today... hope I can find those 8 tenths I somehow managed to lose the last couple weeks

Man, some of you have some fun things to do tomarrow and today... I forgot, starting here at about 12 midnight I have to work at the fire department all night and most of the day tomarrow...
I'm going to do nothing!!!
Except to sit on the front porch and wonder what attacked our fake chicken, and tried to eat it?

Well, did a bit more panel fitting on Tom's Coupe and spent some time going over my body work and fixing up a few of the oops spots....going over the body from back to front for one more block and de-ding, finish fitting the splash aprons and fenders, do the doors, then a double coat of hi build primer and block. All in all a good day, even still feeling half ways healthy after my "Texas fix".... Hopefully be able to escape another week after Christmas and get warmed up again.... Then hopefully some time in the spring to watch that crazy Worrell kid go circle burnin' in the sprinter....
Hope to get some time in on the Bronco this weekend, and of course the tube on Saturday night for the race in Charlotte.....and a dreaded partner's meeting on Sunday afternoon to start clearing out of some business involvements....
The weather sucks already, other then that things are going quite well.....
If its not too windy we're going to put new steel on the shed roof, and if it is too windy I'll be splitting wood. Winter is coming **)
Today was a beautiful AUTUMN day here in Southern Minnesota, in the 70s and no rain.
Took the stock T tudor for a ride around the section (try to drive it every day), got my rebuilt coils in and it really scoots now...... maybe even up to 45 mph:3dSMILE:
Got the patio blocks planted around my son's house, put siding up to 4' high.
Tomorrow I'll be tairing off rotted sheeting and 2X4s. Hope to get it rebuilt and sided before that rain from South Dakota shows up.:whacked:
Gotta gas up the old T; I use a carpenter's square to measure how much gas is in it.... only got 1/2 inch left.
Oh ya, I'm on a kick, trying to get people to use the word Autumn instead of Fall. Leaves fall off the tres in the Autumn. Did ya see that I got Dave using Autumn now?:3dSMILE: :3dSMILE: :3dSMILE:
Ive been working on my halloween outfit, got almost two weeks in on it now. Im doing a real samurai armor. Lots of hammering, and lots of hole drilling, i have complete respect for the master craftsmen of the early days!! will post pics in a few days.
Tom autumn is settling in here. Actually turned on the heat tonight! We too enjoyed a beautiful autumn day! Just didn't get to do the drive in the truck! It was a work day! Tomorrow we get to cruise the bay though and that will be nice.Quote:

Went to the Flea Market this morning, bought 2 oak rocking chairs & matching table for the front porch, and a smaller pressure washer. Tomorrow, I'll pressure wash the golf cart motor, and test drive the chairs, it was 92 & sunny here today.

I'm putting in 14-16 hour days, trying to make some progress. My wife comes out in the garage and just shakes her head. What?
Ken
OK tomorrow Ken, I'll be out there working on the truck, even if it is for a few minutes only!:D
The plan was for my son Jeff & I to split firewood Friday afternoon/night. But, just as we got into a good rhythm the linkage on the valve body broke
I decided waiting for a new part to get here, and since it was Friday night I could make one faster. As I sat at the computer to draw up the part I thought "MAN THIS IS A LOT O' WORK" So, I figured I'd give JB weld a try. Glued the pc. back together and let it set overnight. After running some errands this morning I put it back together to give it a try. It lasted about 10 minutes. LQQKs like that's 1 thing JB can't fix. The part is pot metal so I went back to plan "A" making a new one out of aluminum. I didn't have thick enough stock to make it one pc. so I cut 2 pcs. and tigged them together. I beefed it up where the old one broke as much as I could without it interfering with movement.
BTW: I think this one will hold up. I was using the track loader to load the bigger logs in the splitter. First log I caught the valve handle with the backhoe bucket and spun the splitter around Didn't even bend it. We are back in business.

The long block got shipped on Friday so I figured I better get the pan done to seal out the elements. It is a little dented and scraped, but you'd have to be on your back with the truck jacked up to ever see it, so I'm not too worried. It's surprising how thick the stack metal was!

Let's see tomorrow we drive to Arkansas from DFW area for a look-see, spend a couple days then head back north to Mi and finish preping the yard for the white stuff. When thats done it's back to the Cobra. We are checking the AR area out for a possable relocation next year, wife can't handle the 7 mos of cold so we are looking at a shorter winter area with a bareable summer.Carl
