AAADD ........Has this creeped into your life.

This has been around for a while, but I can't remember if I've shared it with you guys..... Must be my AAADD!!!

KNOW THE SYMPTOMS..... PLEASE READ!
Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder. Somehow I feel better,even though I have it!!

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D.
(Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder)

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.

As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first.

But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my check book off the table, and see that there is only one check left.

My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke I'd been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.

The Coke is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they need water.

I put the Coke on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote. Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:
* the car isn't washed
* the bills aren't paid
* there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter
* the flowers don't have enough water,
* there is still only 1 check in my check book,
* I can't find the remote,
* I can't find my glasses,
* and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all darn day, and I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail...

Do me a favor. Forward this message to everyone you know, because I don't remember who the heck I've sent it to.

Thats whats its called huh, geeze ive had that for many years. Oh crap that reminds me, I left the hose running in the driveway, and I dont think I was even going to wash anything. Well gotta go, the trash needs taken out.

WOW Im not alone... Finally ive found someone else who suffers from the same damn thing LOL People referred to me as being very anal and being able to notice some little fault in every little thing that surrounds me... If i could only focus on one thing at a time I would be dangerous... I dont exactly know what it is called but it is very frustrating!!!!

all of the above can be resolved with beer , if you are sloshed everyone will understand all mentioned technical difficultity's..:D

I think it is called OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Which says your stuff (cars,home,etc.) has to be maintained, aligned and presented in an orderly manner.

I think this applies to a lot of the CHR group,no names mentioned.LOL<LOL

I have been wondering what it was called! I actually started doing all of the above 5-10 years ago!:LOL:

AAADD? So now my problem has a name.:LOL: I've had this problem since I turned 50, always thought it was a natural part of aging. Good to know that it is a universal epidemic, not just me.:LOL: :LOL:

I'm only 37 and I've had this same problem for as long as I can remember.

Cant be age related. Im 23 and ive been doing it for 2 years. Wait, ive had my job for just over 2 years. I Blame Steady Work!!

Oh, and BTW, Nice to see some "old" faces

You should try to build a car with that disorder. I have a drive out basement shop garage but am doing the final assembly of my car upstairs in the regular two car garage. Nothing is where I need it for a particular part or tool. Oh and many of the body parts are in the virtually unused living room - so lots of distractions on the way - refrigerator, TV with Speed Channel ready to be turned on, bathroom (I'm old and when you reach a certain age, a p## stop is always needed, or if not, soon will be an emergency) refrigerator with beer, basement stairs that lead to not one but TWO workshops, one for my car and a smaller one for everything else, then I pass the refrigerator again. Then to top it all off, the @#$#@$%^ computer is in an office at the doorway to the garage, which of course means that I have to check the mail and what has happened on the 2-3 forums I play around in. Then my wife comes home and asks what have I been doing all day to be so tired and there is nothing new to be seen done on the car - again.

Dang, I'm pooped and it's not even 3:30 yet:eek: :CRY: :D

Get a laptop! Thats what I did, did a world of good. Now I can be distracted while looking @ my project of the day. And suddenly, I realize I forgot to do (insert task here) and something gets done! Works wonders.


As for the '82 cutlass got hit by a truck, and the Eagle I sold. High gas prices suck. Oddly enough, The aurora gets 25 combined with my foot out of it.:toocool:
