Reminds me of E.J. Potter back in the 1960's...

I remember the boat version of that bike. It was basically an out board engine strapped to the equivelant of a wake board with a seat on it. Some stuff is just a little too extreme to be usefull! There was a guy who had either a v8 or twin v8 custon built motorcycle back in the 60's or early 70's, that nobody but this guy could even drive. I wish I could remember his name or the bike's name!"

Several companies make motorcycles with V8's today, mostly SBC 350's. One I see mostlyis the Boss Hoss. Pretty neat, but pretty ungly too. Certainly not a sharp corner leaner. Certainly wouldn't want to be on board when the tread left the road.
Recently saw a BMW V12 drag bike. Uses the 12 cyl engine from a 750i. No end to the human imagination.

It might have been E.J. Potter. He had a string of Chevy V-8 powered drag bikes. All the bikes were named "Widowmaker".

He stayed with the bike until it ran off the end of the shutdown lanes and into the dirt. Rather than run into the chain-link fence at the opposite side of the field at 165 mph+, he just rolled off the back of the bike.
He lit on his butt, rolled up in a ball and bounced to a stop. He had a skinned ass and some bruises, but walked away.
The bike continued on, went through the fence and into the woods. After playing pinball with a few trees, there wasn't much left except the engine. At the end of the story, he said he was going to build one with two Chevies, but I never heard any more about... Anybody know what ever became of him?

I just Googled E.J. Potter. He's still alive and living in michigan. There's some stuff about the "Michigan Madman" on a few sites... The V-8 bikes were just the beginning; what a character!

Been getting the truck back together. Painted the wheels and got the tires mounted. Went with 235 55 17 all around. Too cheap.to chrome so I painted the bumper and hood emblem with some silver I had...
