Wish me luck
Ok, here's the twist I will be playing Texas Holdem tournament on July 27th. Then on July 31st I will go under the knife to replace my pacemaker. So if you guy's don't hear for me for a while it will be because I can't afford to pay my internet bill.
Thanks

Brad....Best wishes with both endeavors. Maybe you can win the tournamount and win enough bucks to help with expenses. Prayers go out to you for successful surgery.

Best wishes, and a speedy recovery.

Good luck BradC, mostly on the pacemaker, you can always go back to poker. I like to watch the high rolling poker games when we are able to get it, as we do not have cable TV. I taught my grandson how to play poker, tonk, black jack, and the others; he has no mercy on me, and beats me most of the time. I have told him he could make some big money if he stays with it. Here’s to you having a speedy recover, and A’s over K’s full boat.

Wouldn't it be a better idea to have the pacemaker working right BEFORE a high stakes game??:D
Here's wishin' ya luck in both, or better, good skill for you and the surgeon!

Wow Brad, happy to hear about the card thing, but not so happy about the operation. What is the reason they have to replace it? Do they have a certain useful life or what?
You will be in our prayers bud. Have someone close to you let us know how it went, please.

Here's hoping you do extremely well at both events.:D

Thanks everybody, my everready bunny is on one leg, which is why they have to replace it. Was only good for 6 to 7 years, got mine to last 9 years. So it must not work part of the time to last so long.....LOL I knew I was dead a couple times over the past 2 years.

Update, talk about bad luck I didn't win at poker. After getting to the hospital at 4am and being prepped they said that because my pacemaker voltage was at 5.1 they weren't going to replace it till the voltage drops to 4.9. They said the insurance wouldn't cover me till the battery voltage was low enough. Now I have to test my pacemaker every month instead of every 3.

I was wondering what was happening with you. Poker always next time. Too bad they don’t make them rechargeable you could plug it in for a couple hours and be good to go. The insurance companies have hearts of gold, or is it cold as steel???
Anyway don’t worry about the poker just watch the voltage. Good luck next time on the tournament.

Amazing how the insurance companies dictate our health, isn't it? Well, just keep an eye on it and get it done as soon as it drops. I guess in a way it was good news because the Doctors weren't concerned enough to want to change it out right now.

Glad to hear your O.K. Brad! Those defibulators can be scary. One of my coworkers recently had a pacemaker put in. She said it about scared the@%^#$@ out of her in the middle of the night two days after she went home with it! I guess it was missfiring, and had to be reworked!
In a perfect world, the bean counters would realize preventive maintenance is a lot cheaper, than waiting for something to break! I wish you well!
