With the 4th here already, I realized with my work schedule, I'll be missing a couple of fun events. The neighbors are throwing a block party today, and of course the annual fireworks show, which is always fun. I also love watching the kids smile and go ooooH!:D

im going to yakima for there big drag race. no where else to go nothing else to do.
About the same thing we have been doing every other spare minute........working on Dan's RPU. :) :) :) He has a long weekend off, so we can make some real progress hopefully.

Eat food, play in the garage, and celebrate my grandson's 1st birthday! Here's 1 year ago and today.

I will probably go watch the local big fireworks dissplay, then come home and hang in the garage. My 2 week long vacation starts today and ive got no commitment for the whole 2 weeks. Never had nothing to do for the whole 2 weeks, I will think of something.
I will try to pick some black raspberries, and some newly discovered this year golden, raspberries. Got to love the deer for spreading the wealth!!!! If the mosquito’s will give me a break!!:)

I'm going to work, I'll be the only one there....so I should be able to get something done.
We are having a BBQ, I only invited car people, so when they show up I'm going to be putting my motor back in my red roadster, so if they ask if I need a hand, HELL YES, little do they know they are going to work for that rib dinner :LOL: :LOL:

Parade, carnival, rodeo, fireworks. Add a beer or two and some dead animals cooked on a fire and we are all set.

Don't you love it when the neighbor shoots the rockets at your place, they can't figure that out. Our old neighbor would shoot from the end of his driveway, and they would land in our pool or on our roof. I had to ask if it would be ok for me to shoot towards his house before he understood!!!!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!
This is an exceptional 4th for us. Today we are barbequeing, then jumping in the pool and watching the fireworks from the back yard.
More importantly...tomorrow my signifigant other has a guest arriving that she's never met.....her older brother!
They were both adopted and haven't ever met. It's been 55 years since then, and though we had not been able to find him.....he found us!
He and his wife will arrive Saturday, then on sunday we will host a pool party/BBQ, so he can meet the kids and grand kids.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend too!
You better watch out Ken, Brad C has been known to fly to some faraway State for a cup of coffee, or to fly to Florida to attend Turkey Run for 1 hour. You wave some ribs in front of his nose and he'll be camping out with you for a while.:eek: :LOL: :LOL:

That's one of the best stories I've heard in a while. I'm so happy for her! I had been searching for a college buddy for 20 years, when we finaly connected this spring. All this time that she has been searching for her brother, I bet he was searching for her!
My neighbor found one of his brothers a few years ago. His Mom kept all of his sibblings, except for him. They are so alike, though raised by completely different families. They even have the same mannerisms and food likes and dislikes. Give him a big hug from all of us, and find out if he's into hot rods!:3dSMILE:

I like your version of the fourth, food, drink and cool cars! I miss not having any male friends that are into cars, locally. Most of our local friends and neighbors are buisness professionals that couldn't concieve why anyone would want to get greasy!:D

I just went to Harbor Freight to get a new compressor ( my dad wants his at the other house ), later today Were hoping in the Rambler and going to the fireworks 2 towns over. On Sunday I'm taking the Rambler to a Carshow at the same location
I'm just sitting here soaking it up.Wife in the kitchen getting stuff ready for me to BBQ.The kids are coming over and we'll eat and enjoy life as it is .Can't go see the fire works that are downtown as my dog goes crazy at the sound of them.The neighbors will be shooting and running as It is illegal in the city.Will watch the Boston Pop on TV.
Enjoy the 4th.all and Prayers for our nation.
I'll take the coupe out for a short run thru the neighbor hood and that will make my day.
How fortunate for your wife, my wife just came home from work, and I was telling her of your post. My wife said that is strange that you mentioned that because, where she works she is involved with the Poor Handmaids, an order of the Catholic sister’s. A man about 80 years old was inquiring of his wanting to find his Sister, that until recently didn’t have any knowledge of. Someone told him he had a Sister that was a Poor Handmaid. This man knows that time is very important if he will be able to find her. At this time all he knows is the fact that she is his Sister by birth and she is a Nun, she may not be alive but he is holding onto hope. Could you imagine that?Quote:

Spent my 4th of July working,trying to keep the temperature up in the workshop,only about 50deg F. Raining again today,temperature about 42degF,[6deg Celsius].:( Hail showers,cold,no thunder yet though,:) Wish we were up your neck of the woods in the warmth,enjoying a cold one.:D

Raining all day here. Not doing much of anything. Playing with the kittens. Looks like no fireworks or grilling today.:CRY:
I bolted the Flex-A-Lite fan to my Zip mount and messed with shim washers to to keep the fan blades away from the alternator by about 1/16" but then went with the grandkids to the big celebration at Yorktown. They got their feet into the York River on the sandy beach long enough to see some jellyfish up close and we had a pretty good time with free music and a crowd estimated at 20,000. The Internet advertised "classic cars" but we saw nary a one. Then it started to rain! The kids wanted to see the fireworks and they fired them in the rain and it was the best fireworks I have ever seen! The kids enjoyed the great fireworks even in the rain and I will have to wait until they go home to get back in the garage and finish installing the Zip fan and the Walker shroud.

I did go 2 towns over to watch the fireworks, but they didn't have them ( guess I should have checked first ).. so we drove 2 towns over in the other direction of my house, and they did have there normal fireworks.. I can see that show from my house ( I live on a mtn ).
