    Flooding Backlash

Iowa Agriculture says that the crop (corn) losses this year will top $3 billion, due to the recent and ongoing flooding. Will we still be able to afford the Cheerios after that hits the food chain? A couple of ethanol manufacturing plants scheduled to start production in a few weeks have already pulled the plug, because the cost of the corn will be too high to make if profitable. What's next?

That number must be for just Iowa, I would think with the tens of thousands of acres underwater on the other side of the river the total number would be much higher.....

Hmmm...Maybe I should go buy another drum of ethanol before things get really crazy????

Dave, if I were you I'd forget the drum of ethanol and buy some solar panels. Unless of course the weather is calling for 6 months of darkness.

Anyway, that drum you want has already been marked up at least twice as soon as the flooding started.
