Happy b'day Jimbo! What a milestone!
You're probably the best one to ask this: Why DID they name it dirt?
Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Congratulations Jim.
One thing about having another Birthday, it sure beats not having one.
75 isn't all that old, move to Florida and you will be considered a teenager.

Many thanks for the good wishes, friends! People like you folks are the reason that CHR is absolute #1 on the list of car-related websites.
As DennyW has said, "Logging in at CHR is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night" ..... or some such wording.
Me. too.
Typical of all of Uncle Bob's eloquent and thought-provoking postings, this one caused me to sit pondering his question deep into the night. I have frequently been told that I am "older than dirt", and for some reason I have always figured that "Dirt" was some poor dude who is not as old as I am, and who was stuck with the unfortunate nickname of "Dirt" (that may be because of the fact that I actually know a few guys for whom "Dirt" would be a very appropriate nickname).

Don (Itoldyouso) comforted me by informing me that "having another birthday sure beats NOT having another birthday". That would be a great truth. They told me when I was a kid growing up in a Southern Baptist Sunday School that when the time comes that I do miss a birthday and they carry me out feet-first, I'll go to one if two places. One is reported to be a pretty nice place but the other is best known for a pretty hot climate.
Well, whichever direction they send me I hope it's where I might find guys like Walt Zander and Duane (Oldf100man) and some others. If those boys are there (and there's someplace I can get parts for my old Dodge), heck! It might not be bad duty at all!

A very happy belated birthday wish for you Jim!! Sorry I missed the official day, but I was having too much fun at the York Nats in 100 degree heat. Too frigging tired and to sweaty to touch a keyboard until today. Congratulations on making it to three quarters of a century, you only have one more quarter to go to become a centenarian.
Enjoy it, keep the faith, and hang in there!!Bob
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!

I check in everyday and some are better than others. I don't think Brent has anything to do with the forum anymore, but I'm not sure. Hopefully as time moves on the forum will get better.
Where is everybody?
