Yep, once Hollywood gets ahold of production on one of these shows it goes downhill. Like American Chopper...........is it even on the air any more? Why they think we want to see hot air balloon rides and skeet shooting on a car show I have no idea.
I guess they have to tailor these shows to a broad audience that includes people who don't really know a thing about cars or bikes, but who factor into the Nielson Family rating thing.
Don
I would have done something else, but it was too dang hot and humid to go outside today. The display in the Explorer said 100. It's too early for that.
Would you like high 50's and rainy? Get on a plane.:)
But don't take a plane to IL. We have a tornado watch in effect 'til 8pm.
arent they still working on the ugly azz bradley on the show???? i tried to watch a few times but counldnt get thru it before the ADD kicked in , the impala was kinda enteresting but as yall have said "commercials" just makes me want to take a dip of snuff!!!!AAAAACCKKKKK!!!
It was a Bricklin. Most of the Bradleys are in Iraq. :) Although, a Bradley would have been more interesting . . .
No doubt you could blow the doors off just about anything with that unit.
you right , thats what i meant :D ....but hell yeah a bradley would be better!!
Ol Dan get's a tad bit boring at times. Some of the projects are kool. But I just dont like there story tellin style.
:toocool:
Maybe they could start a new car show called Nip and tuck!
There's already a show called Nip/Tuck. It's about cosmetic surgery, and it's really, really strange.
There used to be a bare Bradley body sitting in the lobby of a plastics company in Ft. Worth....I think they (forgot the name of the company) did the molding of the body...it was abs as I remember....the Bradley had a problem of the roof warping in hot sunlight. You sure dont see them anymore (probably a good thing). As I remember, they had AMC running gear.
As with all the Hot Rod shows, the quality goes down the tube when the Hollyweird experts have to add all the controversy and other bs.... Like Pinks, somehow it ends up being watcable, inspite of the idiot Rich who runs it..... Somebody has got to teach the dude something about cars someday........
and how to ride sportbikes!! :3dSMILE: :LOL:Quote:

360 AMC in 1974, then a Ford 351 Windsor in 1975-76.
The best project show on TV is Stacey David's "Gearz".
Speed has it in a horendous time slot, but the builds kick ass, and Stacey is consistantly the best project show host on TV.
Maybe, but there is one thing that he does that bugs my bum.........When he takes the old parts off of the car/truck, he makes this BIG production of throwing them 10 feet across the floor into a big pile.....like they are so much crap. This, to me, slaps the average hotrodder right in the face....we can't afford to dispose of stuff like that. We carefully keep our old parts in case we can sell them, use them for something else etc.......To me, what he does says...."Screw you, I get my parts for free, so who cares".........Quote:

I'm glad to see that he got another show though. It's not often that you can find a good show and when you do, the network changes the show times almost weekly. Welcome back Stacey!
Poncho, you're right about trashing good pieces. It's like the home improvement shows where they smach all of the old cabinetry rather than using it in the garage or giving it to Habitat for Humanity.
+ 1 on that. I liked him on Trucks before Gearz. The other one that was good was Lou Santiago on Musclecar. But now he is gone and even though they replaced him with two hosts, they don't add up to him. Lately 2 Guys Garage has been real good, they have a darn good metal worker on there as a co-host now and have doen some interesting stuff and some real fabrication.Quote:

They have definitely found a popular niche that gives the down home drag racers their 15 minutes of fame.
What do you think of "Pass Time" where they have 3 folks trying to guess the times that cars will run?
Pat
I'm not so sure that the producers of Trucks didn't re-sign him as much as he didn't want to re-sign with the show. The reason I say that is, just look at Gearz... with Trucks he was pigeon-holed into doing on truck projects and now he's working on a bunch of different things... even put together that V8 barstool for one show (which was too cool). I think he's got WAY more creative control with this show, letting him do the projects that he wants to do.
