YOM plate in New Jersey
I have a really nice 1929 New Jersey plate for my roadster of the same year. I called the DMV when I got the plate two Xmases ago to see if I could use it for my car (I have a QQ - antique vehicle - plate on it now). The people I spoke with at the DMV were friendly (!) and very helpful, but told me that although the plate was not currently registered to any vehicle, I could only use it for exhibition and I'd have to stick with the QQ plate. Oh, well.
Since I only use a plate on the rear, I wonder if I could use the YOM plate on the front only without running afoul of the law. At the time, I didn't think to ask the DMV specifically about this, so I'm asking any NJ members reading this forum if they have any experience along these lines. When I do contact the DMV I'll let this thread know what I find; however, the way a question is posed to the DMV can sometimes influence the outcome.

.....I'm not from Jersy but from what I've been told if you ask the same question at different DMV's sometimes you'll get a different answer. I would ask a small town DMV the same question....Maybe they'll let you do it..... bill
