Don't jump off the ship, believe me these surgeries take time and you can't be guaranteed that you will get better. Years of damage will take its toll, do what the Dr. say, and take it one day at a time. I don’t want to talk about myself too much but I’ll tell you I have been busted up pretty good from one end to the other and some parts a second and third time. As an Iron Worker I walked steel with a bad knee, when I would sit down on a truss to bolt up perlins I would have to remember to kick my left leg out to make it pop or if I tried to walk on the top cord of the truss my leg would give out. I had 5 surgeries on that knee it needs to replace but I don’t want to have anymore if I can possibly get by with it. My right knee needs surgery, both of my arms are bad the right elbow needs to be replaced, I lost 40% of the use of it in 1979 I worked with it for another 10 years. My left wrist eggshell cracked they had to put pins in it, I lost 30% of the use of it. Then 1989 two back surgery’s pain everyday some days so bad I want to give up, my wife say’s that’s not up to you. If I can stop for a minute and think of people worst then me, which I have friend that are. I think my friends that died from heart attacks would have traded places with me before their heart attack. I know from my Dr. that people that had the same type surgery ended up paralyzed from the same back surgery I had but their Dr. was as good as mine. Take a deep breath tell your wife you are sorry, I have told that to my wife more times then she deserves but she stays with me. How long do you think you would make it with out her? We lash out at the very people that are trying to help us. Stop this bull shit or drive your truck and kick my ass maybe you will feel better, it shouldn’t be to hard to do since I’ve been busted up so bad, or give me a call and I’ll talk to you, Like I said I’ve been their many times but my wife tells me what I’ve got going. I didn’t think I would ever mess with cars when I fell off the building, my arms had no strength, the Dr. can not believe how I can do anything with them they are so bad but maybe it’s will power. You can't do anything about the blood clots but the Dr. can, they can’t make you keep your temper but you can. Do what the old saying says. Change the things you can and except the things you can’t. I thought I was a goner when I left the roof before I hit the ground but I’ve had a long marriage and three grandkids just think what I would have missed if I would have given up. Get back to what you can do and stop talking like this, and leave your Dr. alone they won’t treat you in jail like your wife does. Sorry for being so hard on but if you get this far you will understand what I’m trying to say. Take Care.
