Anyone here into gardening/vegetables?

Yes , I said it gardening:LOL: I can use some tips on doing it organically. I have had gardens for as long as I can remeber but here in the last few years to busy to get going. Well this year I made it a point to do it and for the kids, 2 boys.


One thing for sure build it and they will come:CRY: . BUGS and not the good ones. I have been chasing a ant colony all across the garden and finally after 3 attempts to wipe them out it looks like I am winning. Also, I was moving some tin sheets from the back yard and ran into 5 frogs so I figured ,what the heck, I moved them to the garden dont know if they will stay. Now I need to find some ladybugs and get them in the garden:LOL: . The lady bugs,frogs, and birds take care of (eat) most of the bugs that want to eat my vegetables. Eventually I might have to "delete" a frog or 2, dont want them eating all the ladybugs, but for now will see how it goes.

I prefer to use predatory insects like the predatory mites. My ladybugs seem to half there population every week. I grow my plants to a good size in a cold frame so there big before going outside and it's harder for the bugs to do damage.My biggest concern now is the bee population. I didn't have enough to pollinate my large garden last year. I grew in pots because of the horrible mole population that would destroy there roots. I used an organic tea and drip emitters to water them. Right now I just have sprouts as its still too cold for the cold frame.

you need a franklins allminac for the correct times to plant ..
