I Can't Belive It

In 2 1/2 hours I hit the big 70.It seems only yesterday that I was getting married and starting a family,serving an apprentiship and getting started in life.I have been blessed with 3 great kids that choose to remain single,so no granddaddy here.A wife that put up with me for 49 yrs. in June.

Time seems to move at a rapid pace,you are old and don't realize it.My health is good,with the exception of type II diebetes which I control with diet and exercise.I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to build another car after 40 +yrs.

Blessed with A forum that I am proud to be a part.So with that said I thank all the guys and gals,that have helped me with technical and moral support during the build process of the coupe.

Someone said you are old as dirt when you reach my age.I don't feel it.
I just took the coupe out today and filled er up Wheeeew $$$.Going to go for a long drive tomorrow and enjoy the day.

say that someday, 2weeks before my this last birthday(jan 15) doc told me if
I didn't get this surgery I needed for the second time,I would make it a week passed my birthday,had it done and doing well so far!!

well have a good one .i started watching some things i use to eat mosty beef i love a good steak but the every day for luch hamburger stop.i feel better ? or it is all in my head?

Happy Birthday Don. :D :D Move to Florida and you will be just a pup. From living here I have found out there are two kinds of older people: Those that look and act their ages and those that are fighting aging tooth and nail. Those people are like you (and I.......I hope) people who enjoy life and are still 18 between the ears.

From what I have seen of you on this forum you are just beginning to have fun. Keep it up. :D :D

Have a great birthday! Nice to that are some of us old(er) guys out there that are not content to just sit in a recliner. Most of us are going to develop some inevitable aches and pains, but staying active seems to keep many of them in check. Like your ride, Don. Hope you have good weather for your cruise!

Happy Birthday! I went through that last year. It is important your car is running, I get achey all over working under the car. Type II is a pain, you are supposed to reduce carbohydrates but if you eat too much protein you have to worry about cholesterol! We like the one free dinner on Tuesday's at the local Aunt Sarah's to get a ham and cheese omelet but then they add pancakes which are hard to resist! So just be glad you can enjoy your car and only have to change the oil.

Happy Birthday, not too long ago it seems I sold a street rod to a guy that was 65, I said I hope I'll still be into street rods at 65. That was 8 years ago and I'm quickly closing in on that number. Here's a birthday wish for you to have good Good Health, God Speed, and May you have many more years of doing what you enjoy.

I had this car for 13 years. This is what the 65 year old guy bought, at the time I thought holy cow, now 65 is not so old!!! And if I make too 70 that will still be young.

Welcome to the "70+" category, Don!

I suppose there's something to be said for being in the seventh decade of a man's life, but, danged if there ain't down-sides too! I'll not to go into those as some are a tad embarrassing to discuss .........

And I can't say whether something in Texas water contributes to a guy's life span, Uncle Bob, but if that's the case I'll bottle up a jug or two of the stuff and send some to the Senior Geezer Curmudgeon as well as other CHR contributors who can provide legal proof-of-age.

But I wouldn't be too optimistic about how effective it will be.

Happy B day Don. I know what you mean. I was sitting around yesterday talking to one of my kids friends about downloading music and making ringtones for my phone. She kept looking at me like "ok... the dude in the old man suit is freaking me out." Ha! You're only as young as you feel. I never got any older than 19, but I'll be 53 this summer.

As usual, I'm a day (or 2) late and a dollar short, but I hope you had a terrific 70th birthday Don!! And more importantly, I hope you have many, many more.:D
