ya me either, my 15 minutes of rest and now ive only got 4 of them left. Just poor timing on my part for the site to mess up.
Just another glitch, don't think the world is ending........
just a lil hiccup!!
Its been happening about 1-3 times a month since for ever:HMMM:
I'm getting used to it. :( I just go off to some other sites till it comes back up. Still can't understand why it happens so often.
Don
Seems we are getting attempts to hijack the server.....No other details at this time.
It always happens when I'm dying to post a question!
this is the only site I get on most of the time, the only other one I
is the buick one I sort of get on maybe once a week just to see whats going on,because of my wagon, there if you don't drive or talk buick, you ain't Sh~~,I posted a picture of my 47 fleetline there once, and not one it's kool ,where did you find it,nothing!! not even a it's sticks,Oh well!!:HMMM:
I would think thats typical for online services. I have not seen it happen for all my other smaller online sites. I guess that shows how special we are

That`s my guess. Hey its free!! what`s there to complain about? Maybe if we payed a monthly service fee, then i would hound brent like i would the cable company.
Computer hackers and thieves are getting way out of hand. I just got a letter from my bank, they had to cancel my card because it was "compromised." Come to find out someone hacked into Sweetbay Markets, where I shop, and stole lots of credit card info between Dec 10th and March 23rd.
So I had to get a new card overnighted, then go to the bank to have it turned on. But at least nothing happened to my accounts there. :)
I'm all for instituting the death penalty for these creeps.

Hijackers, hackers and theives - Oh My!!!!! :HMMM:
Think how much better the world would be if all that intelligence and energy were placed in the right direction!
Dang your in Fort Myers, Fl. I'm in Brandon. I was just gonna say that happened here. HE! HE! I deliver Fuel to the Pilot truck stop about three
times a week over off of I-75. Kurt
Hey I am on three boards anyway, two of which are about computers and I can hardly keep up with them so I just cleaned up the messages on the other boards, but I did work on the roadster today. I cut a D-bar to length and had one end milled at a local machine shop and installed it between the Vega box on the cross steer and the GM column. I am writing this because I do not trust the Speedway universals with the set screws. I went about a mile away to John York's Cobra shop (four cobras in progress of which two are finished) to ask about the D-bar and he said he runs a pin through them and then adds a bit of weld. On the other hand the tech guy at Speedway warned me not to weld them because the heat would ruin their temper. Sooo, I just plan to drill through each end and run a cap screw through with a lock washer to hold it. What do you folks think?

If possible Don, I'd use a castle nut in conjunction with a cotter pin.
Don,
Looks to me like the Speedway U-joints have lock nuts just like the Borgesons. Loctite the set screws and tighten the lock nut. I have Borgesons, and they lock up just fine. I also drill pilot holes about 1/4" deep in the DD shaft so there's no chance of the joints slipping on the shaft.

yes i use a spade drill to spot face thru the u joint set screw the shaft were the set screw is i drill them when are together to get on the shaft were i wantQuote:

I think I will set it up with locktite and indented holes on the flat parts of the D-bar and then when it is rolling and I can get it up on a lift I will have all the joints except the pinion tack welded in place. At present the lower joint is only accessible from the bottom of the car.

When did we come up again? I haven't been able to get on the last 24 hours. Any posts from Brent as to what's going on?
I'm calling it training for when we move next weekend, and don't know when, I'll be able to get back on!
Pat
I couldn't get on all day yesterday either. It didn't look like a DNS issue this time, looked like the server was down.
Pat have a safe trip, take it slow and easy. And congrats on the move. I hope you find a place that has a big shop! I would love a country place with a 50x50 shop to spread out in!:3dSMILE:
Not the servers this time around but the switch/hubs at the ISP. Something about digging and a large backhoe being heard in the background    :whacked:Quote:

Make that 4-5 times a month....

I tried to drill my own cotter pin holes in bolts without seccess but found 5/16" bolts of the correct thread WITH cotter pin holes in the Bratton Auto Parts Model A restorers catalog! It seems the bolts are the ones meant to bolt the Model A transmission to the A block and as with many parts for the A they have cotter pin holes. I am not quite finished but I am slowly making progress to do this "right". After several mistakes and ruined parts I got help from a machinest named Spike Allen at nearby DanKel Engineering at (where else?) the Hanover Air Park and I will get a photo soon. As far as the Forum goes, it is worth waiting for and there is a wealth of technical information here by looking thorugh old threads and so if the site is down for a while it is worth waiting for when it comes up again.

Thanks Steve. She's got about 2 years to go for her RN and 3 for the BSN. She needs to do really well, because at my age she could end up being my primary care giver. With that said, Doomed is the word that comes to mind when thinking about my future.
