Family Pride
I may never have a car in a national magazine, but my father in law has one of his in the June, 2008 issue of Street Rodder. :toocool: His car, a 1958 Impala was one of the award winners at the NSRA Southeast Nats last October. At that event, he was approached by a fellow from Street Rodder about doing a feature on the car. They got together at the Turkey Run in Daytona at Thanksgiving and the results are in this month's edition starting on page 106.
The article mentions his daughter, Denise, that found the car. She's my wife. Needless to say she's thrilled for him. I wonder how many copies of the mag he has bought?
If you get a chance check it out.
Thanks!

Bob,
Sounds great - (still waiting for my June SR) - and will be looking forward to reading about the car. The '58 Chebbie - the 'forgotten' year and the only Chebbie I ever owned.

Mopar sharp auto he has there . I had to go look received mine saturday but haven't made it that far yet . One of chevys best lines imho for the late 50 .
-
I have always enjoyed a mag more, if there was a personal connection to one of the cars in the mag. I may not know you face to face Mopar, but we are friends here and I look forward to seeing your FIL's chevy.

Cool deal!! I was a 58 Impala nut for years, only owned one. Street Rodder used to have a deal where you could send in pics of your pride &joy. (havent subscribed to a magazine in a long time) but I sent in pics of my buddy's (Steve Oneals )47 Ford and my 46 Ford and they were published. Sure it was black'n white, but only time I've been in a mag. Still have a copy of that issue and some reprints in my garage

Is this it. It comes up as a featured car on their web site.http://images.streetrodderweb.com/fe...et_impala+.jpg

That's a nice looking '58, but that's not it. That one seems to be missing the scallops and the lakes pipes and the wide whites. Here it is at the Southeast Nats.

Post a photo when you get a chance Bob. We would love to see it!

Steve - as requested.. posted above.

Now that's a sweet impala!:D

Purty car.
I'm not a real scallop lover on most cars but the '58 Chebbies just look "right" with 'em.
(I wonder when my June SR is going to show up - it's been he!! all my life being a 'W' and near the end of the alphabet:CRY:  )
