1 of the reasons I bought the Rambler is because I can enter it into almost any show and have a place to sit and watch, and stash food and beverages.. that's why we started entering my dads '72 C10 into the shows we go to. it's also cheaper than the tickets. Syracuse Nationals is $35 to enter a vehicle. includes tickets for 2 adults, 2 kids under 16 for all 3 days. it's $25 a ticket per day if you just walk in for adults.
You don't know what you've got til it's gone

about trophies...I have thrown all mine out!! After a while, you forget what they were for, where they came from... BUT, seeing as you are going in an early Monte...someone might just notice you!!! Those are NOT seen too often...in fact, most of the shows I attend, might see one Monte every 3-4 shows... Good luck, but most of all, as everyone else has said, HAVE FUN!!! I look at the trophies this way...how many would it take to buy you a burger and coke??? Enjoy your car and let us know what you think AFTER your first show!!! Donny

I did the same thing. After Hurricane Charlie destroyed our first shop I saved the two biggest trophies and tossed a bunch into the dumpster. Funny, they meant so much to me at one time and in the end I didn't care if I had them or not.

I do like to save the dash plaques you generally get though. Gonna make a wall grouping of them some day.

    Thumbs up First car show

Just go for the social aspect, if you win somethin' it's all gravy. Got trophies, plaques, pictures, etc. Our old 46 Ford hauled in a lot of loot when we lived in 'Vegas and I admit it was nice to win anything, especially when you are being compared to hi dollar cars. But the best "wins" I can recall were sweatshirts and T shirts, saved me a bundle not having to buy shirts. (Oh yeah. some of the plaques / pictures are on my garage wall, trophies are in the attic.)
